Some thoughts on the culture of Philippines and 'Asia'

Postby DCX_10 » Tue Aug 24, 2010 9:17 pm

I was looking at the world map today and it struck me where Philippines is. It is tropical. Historically people in tropical regions are lazy and unorganized. They can harvest food/catch fish all year long, there is no need for discipline/work ethic. (This is a very well known story in economics. Other than Singapore, a city state of mostly Chinese immigrants, there is no advanced economy in topical regions.)

5000 years of history runs deep; this is why many girls in Philippines are lazy; they have a culture/history of this.

But I think there is some misunderstanding on this forum regarding Asia. Firstly 60% of human population live in Asia, it includes China, Japan, Korea, and Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, but also India, most of Russia, Iran, Iraq, and the four Stans. So by definition, all these people are "Asian". Now I know from my personal experience, there are many many very smart, industrious people in China. (The culture is anything but "lazy".) If your partner criteria is a hard working, intelligent, good looking and fertile young female, there are certainly many many such candidates in China. That's why I love Chinese girls. haha. (Oh one more thing, they are very very safe. Most 25 year old only had two or fewer partners. And you don't have to worry about getting them pregnant; they won't carry unwanted pregnancy through. each woman can only have one child by law so they are VERY careful.)

But I from what I read, I would love to check out Philippines. Question is how safe are they? How do I find non-whores but good looking girls in Philippines?

Thanks Guys. I am happy to join the forum.

most of Russia... So by definition, all these people are "Asian"

I can sense the results of the faulty American educational system in your definitions. Russians conquered Siberia ( the Asian part of the country) at the same time when the Americans conquered the Great American West. Russians were colonizers who actually did not leave their colonies but annexed them.
You will have hard time convincing people in Iran, Afghanistan, etc that Russians are Asians.
You will have even harder time convincing Chinese, Japanese and Koreans that Russians are Asians.

Welcome, beginner!

Getting non whores in the Philippines is easy. Just go to department stores and other shops and flirt with the girls. Give them your number. Pretend you are shopping and just chit chat with them. Some 60% will call you or text you back. Then you take it from there. Easy as pie. Some 85% of them are virgins anyway. The number is even higher in the countryside. So expect a long love affair. No place beats the Philippines as far as the ease of meeting girls goes. I would not waste my time in other countries.

A Chinese wife would be better for you if wanted someone with a stronger work ethic, who was more serious and organized.

But there's a tradeoff. They wouldn't be as much fun.

I know a guy in Taiwan who has dated both Taiwanese and Filipinas. He says that Taiwanese are more refined, but Filipinas are more fun and relaxed. He also said that Filipinas are easier to meet but the drama comes later from their families and from them. But Taiwanese are the opposite. They are harder to break the ice and get with, but once you get them, the sailing is smoother from there.

Plus you aren't going to have as many choices with Chinese women. Many of them are cliquish by nature and not very easy with strangers. It's in their culture, upbringing, and nature perhaps.

But if you like serious types who are responsible and organized, Chinese women are better suited. But you aren't going to feel as relaxed and carefree around them. They simply don't have that kind of vibe. Their vibe is more uptight and they are more picky/anal about little things than Filipinas are.

That's my impression.

On the other hand, Chinese women seem to age better and have smoother skin, if they come from a richer country that is. Filipinas from the middle class are refined too, like Chinese women are, but the easiest Filipinas are the poor ones, and some of those tend to be farmer types who are very low class and act kind of "barbaric" to put it kindly.

Very insightful and true. Once you're accepted into the broader Chinese "family" you are considered one of their own. Of course you are expected to take care of your spouse's parents as well when they get old. This is why a lot of Chinese families don't really like non Chinese foreigners marrying in. They view it as a threat to their future security as well.

Yes, that is "safe" if you are only thinking about yourself. But if preservation of life is also a man's priority (like it is for me), then he should just use a condom to have peace of mind.

Which cities should I go visit in Philippines? How long should the trip be? I can take sometime off. But other than picking up girls, what else can you do in the country? Maybe I can volunteer as a teacher or something?

In Philippines, if the girl is a virgin, would she guard her virginity closely? Do you have to compensate her (and her family) for taking her virginity?

Also, I heard there is a lot of kidnapping in Philippines. How do you best protect yourself?

Thanks guys. I appreciate your advice.

Go to Cebu. Forget others. Try a three week trip.

I can take sometime off. But other than picking up girls, what else can you do in the country?

Plenty. Imagine you are in Hawaii and everything is 5 x cheaper. What would you do?

Maybe I can volunteer as a teacher or something?

No need to volunteer. You can find paid work. PM me for details.
In Philippines, if the girl is a virgin, would she guard her virginity closely?

Yes. Usually. But some 15% are liberated and maybe some 3% have kids. These are game.

Do you have to compensate her (and her family) for taking her virginity?

Yes, like taking a machete stab in between your ribs if the family is conservative. But if she likes you she will expect the relationship to be forever. Then she will give herself to you. Usually, though not much happens if you leave her except that she is scarred for life. So, either find liberated gals or hookers for sex. I do not advise you to seduce gals as in popping hopeful cherries and then dumping them. Lives will be ruined. Bad karma. I mean it. Find the one you love or stick with the liberated ones.
Also, I heard there is a lot of kidnapping in Philippines. How do you best protect yourself?

Unlikely to happen to average single male tourists in big cities. Stay away from Muslim areas of Mindanao.

Did anyone see on the news that incident in Manila where a crazy gunman, a policeman who got fired, shot up a group of Hong Kong tourists on a bus, before being gunned down by police? It made international headlines.

What was in him? I thought crazy shooting sprees like that only happened in the US.

Thank you for your great advice! I can definitely do a 3 week trip. I'll google Cebu.

There has been some really good advice here on the Phillipines, I don't have a whole lot to add myself; but that my girlfriend who is moving here to be with me is from there. I agree with Cebu. She told me it is a great city. You will indeed find the liberated and the conservatives thrown into the mix....but what I like about them in general is how friendly they are. I got this in Indonesia. Just smile at them, look them in the eye (feel free, you won't be seen as 'creepy') and say hello to them. They will almost always smile and give you a warm hello. I was able to just chat up girls in Jakarta doing this. Think of 'game' but in a nice way, not a shitty one.

I don't think they are lazy, they are just not as industrialized therefore the work is a bit fewer and far between.

But as to their culture...what made them appealing to me, is a Christian, is that the conservatives, and even many of the liberated ones are only so to a point because they follow the Roman Catholic faith. This is a good thing for you, religious or not, because they believe in STAYING in the marriage, dislike divorce, and its a norm to have large families. My girlfriend has five brothers and sisters.

The catholic influence of spain from the west helped their culture; it has given them values that they truly embrace.

How much would a three-week trip to Cebu cost? Would US$3,000 cover the trip (not including air ticket)? Any recommendation of hotels? What about safety? Thanks a lot!
