Invite you in and feed you? With what? The shit food in their homes makes foreigners puke! Yuck.

I don't understand something. I see Filipinos dining out paying their tabs all the time. So why can't they pay if they are around us? It doesn't make sense.

You are talking of the leach mentality brown trash peeps, I look like a caucasian although I'm half asian and I don't get treated like an ATM...but maybe its due to me being around middleclass pinoys and pinays who are not looking for sugar foreigner dude.

One thing to be careful with middle class and above Filipinas, they will try to be the boss in the relationship and attempt to pussify their boyfriend/husband slowly but surely. In Philippine relationships usually the wife runs the show at home, while in public she will support her man like a good little wifey. That's why there are so many girly bars for wealthier local Filipino men, they need to get away from their wives on occasion. All the foreigner guys that I have met who live in the Philippines AND their wives are educated, tend to rule the roost while their husband is kinda cowtowing along with their program of what a relationship should consist of. Only the lower class undereducated girls tend to allow their husband to make the decisions, this is what I have noticed.

What you have observed is not a pinay thing its an asian thing. The home is the woman's abode in NEasia and SEasia. Sure the guy will have the last say and the gal will not oppose the husband or shame him publicly but in private quarters, between husband and wife, a wife's words has as much word as her husband's. I'm half asian, caucasian mother and asian father, currently staying in the Philippines. Me thinks you may have stayed longer in PI but you are still a superficial casual observer with a bar scene and whore mongering mentality, no offense but that makes your 'observations' invalid/jadedness biased imho.

Winston these are scammer profiles lol

The first woman is a starlet from a reality TV show (I'll ask a local about her name), what I know is she has a singer BF so why the heck would she be on your dating site for reals?

Second woman is a model, seen her pictures used by scammers all over dating sites.

This is too funny I'm sure if I show this to a local like our dear Ginger she would be doubling over and falling out of her chair in hysterical laughter.

Yeah, it may be an Asian thing but what kind of positive advise would you give that would be considered "non-invalid-jadeness" that would benefit a Western born/raised male who wants to date in Asia and not become p***y whipped at home in the process?

Dissing others observations based on their personal experiences with Pinoys, Other Asians, married Western men to Pinoys/Asians by just reading/replying to postings while in the process sarcastically dissing them is not necessarily high quality responding. How you perceive reality and your day to day interactions with those around you will differ from myself or other Western males who were born and raised in an Anglo dominated social structure. I've been around all kinds of socio-economic Pinoys since I've been living here almost 10 years now. I actually work in a field where I deal with barely high school graduates to higher educated Pinoy's from the highest social structures. I've frequented all kinds of social activities here from the lowest go-go bar/KTV dregs of society to the supposed "best members" frequenting places like the Tower club, UP, De LaSalle, Atenao, 5-star hotel events, etc and attending foreign diplomats personal holidays parties at their houses in Makati and whatnot. I'm not a whoremonger who gets piss drunk every weekend although I had participated in the lifestyle for a bit in the past to see what all the fuss was about, not just here in PI but in other Asian countries. There's nothing wrong with it as long as it doesn't control your life and you see it for what it really is (although I have to admit many Westerners get sucked into that fantasy world).

From what I can tell most Males both Asian and Western generally cowtow to women way to much here in Asia. Since I don't subscribe to that I am trying to warn others regarding what they may be getting into with Pinoy women. All my guy friends who hooked up with a Pinoy GF, whether born in raised in a Western Country or grew up here cause they lived in a mixed family all met women who slowly began controlling their lives to the point that they almost became a different person from before they got into the relationship. Coincidently, I have no more real male friends anymore except for one I work with who is 40 years old and still lives at home! I'm mostly stuck being around highly educated local women who are either retired/lesbian/fanatical Christian or husband/wives's who run their own business or are some other high end profession.

If a Western guy wants this kind of Female Alpha/Male Beta relationship setup fine. But that's not the kind of female I'm interested in dealing with and being around. So I'm giving my personal opinion based on my experiences. You are giving your opinion based on your experiences but to say that your opinion is the one with complete validity and mine is completely jaded is just a supposition. That I'm a typical Western whore monger is complete conjecture on your part. You can't make false assumptions about somebody and their experiences and advice unless you have personally met them and get to know where their viewpoints and biases regarding things come from.

I could make various opinions about what kind of person you may be from my own experiences with educated Pinoys whether half or whole but I won't cause it's pointless in the end. If you have positive information about Philippines that can assist others here who are interested in the country and women do that. However, it's best to refrain from personal attacks and stating that their opinions are invalid cause you are half-Pinoy and live here so you are the sole truth regarding the matter being discussed.

One should take all opinions and examples in this forum with extreme caution and remember only to use them to ferment an initial hypothesis about a place, experience or event. Until individuals are off on their own little overseas adventure they can then decide for themselves what they have read is valid or not for them. The advise given in this forum assists some with avoiding negative pitfalls or giving them the initial motivational push to travel overseas. But no one really has the last word about anything cause there really is no such thing. Western men need to know about potential entrapments in Asia and other countries and then proceed accordingly based on their own life needs and proclivities.

Man, I'm not half pinoy, the pinoy part of my genetics is at best 1/16th lol.

Did not say your observations are jaded, I said it's biased by it. Maybe I came on too strong but really man, seems you have an unhealthy hatred of the Luzon women and educated middleclass ones (based on several posts from you I've read). That is where the invalidity and jadedness bias comment came from.

You also assumed I'm pinoy and raised in asia. I grew up in the states, my passport says I'm a US citizen last I checked and all in all maybe total stay in the Philippines is around 400+ days only so far. Genetics is mostly caucasian and NEasian.

Idk but I simply don't expect pinoys to speak harvard level english, foreigners should learn to speak the local language and the local scene and culture instead of lavishing negativity on the imperfectness of pinoy english.

How come when a pinay girl with above average english skills posted here you accused her of not being pinay? I may be wrong and it was someone else who said it but I remember perfectly you said she's a stuck up middle class and then said she probably is from top school even when she said those are false assumptions. Fact is, the stereotyping is really getting old and it represents a false Philippines that gets perpetuated on the internet scene.

On the asian thing, its not being pussywhipped if a wife rules the home, its an asian thing, gender roles and equality without being a dom and sub thing unlike in the western world powerplay.

Well dude all I can say is you can live in your reality and I'll live in mine and we'll call it at that. Others can decide for themselves as stated previously. Okay your half Asian, I got it. The Philippines doesn't have one culture it's a hodgepodge of various ones like what America is becoming. Learning Tagalog is only worth it if you love learning languages or are working regularly with the poor. I'd rather spend my time learning a more useful language if I'm gonna do that. Tagalog isn't even a full modern language, they have to use English with it just to be able to talk in modern day vernacular. They don't even have a broadsheet in Tagalog, only English. Does that show how much the educated classes respect their supposed national language? When you visit other parts of the Philippines they prefer using their own language or if educated, English. If they wanted to be a proper unified nation they should have long ago either modernized the Tagalog language or created an entirely new language based on a combination of the major ones already in existence.

As you state an Asian wife ruling the home is the norm, Westerners may not want that so they either have to accept it, retrain the girl to his liking or forgo getting with an Asian chick all together. I prefer retraining or forgoing, and others may too.

I'm not hell bent on English proficiency it's when the country markets itself as being a place that is tourist friendly and all that, when it isn't really is the problem.

This is a summary of the main problems with Filipinos as explained by a fellow Filipino national. It's not just ignorant Westerners pointing out various drawbacks of Filipinos:

What does the Filipino want?

January 21, 2013
by FallenAngel

The Filipino desperately declares to the rest of the world that he is the best among the lot, yet the current political, economic, and social states of his country, the mannerisms of his people, and the quality of his thinking prove otherwise.

What does the Filipino want?

The Filipino claims that being a colony for more than 400 years has been like shackles which keep him tied down. Yet now that he is no longer a colony or protectorate, he runs back to his former masters to give his own life definition.

What does the Filipino want?

The Filipino desperately wants the rest of the world to validate that his people and his country are respectable and important, yet when given a chance to step up, he squanders it.

What does the Filipino want?

The Filipino wants certain societal behaviors to be corrected, yet when rules and guidelines are set for him, he cries foul. He cries that his beloved “freedomâ€￾ is being taken away.

What does the Filipino want?

The Filipino claims he is always a victim of circumstances, yet when he is given a chance to uplift himself to a better condition, he cries victim even harder and refuses to learn his lesson.

What does the Filipino want?

The Filipino wants others to understand him because he is “specialâ€￾, he is “uniqueâ€￾, and he is Filipino. Yet when asked to understand others, he ignores it and resorts to being judgmental and holier-than-thou.

What does the Filipino want?

The Filipino cries out for change, yet when given suggestions on what needs to be changed, he cries persecution, racism, and lets his balat-sibuyas tendencies take over.

What does the Filipino want?

The Filipino does not like corruption displayed by his public officials, yet he will not hesitate to bend the rules for his own benefit and convenience.

What does the Filipino want?

The Filipino keeps hoping for a better future, yet when asked to plan for it, you will at best get a blank stare and head scratching.

What does the Filipino want?

Finally, the Filipino does not want a politician who has studied extensively; he is afraid that he/she would use his/her intellect to steal from the country’s coffers. Yet currently he is stuck with a whole bunch of mediocre politicians he himself voted into government, and now he finds himself complaining that they are all corrupt and/or incompetent just the same.

What does the Filipino want?

What the Filipino wants, quite simply, is this:

The Filipino wants to have his cake, and eat it too.

The Filipino wants all of the glory, none of the work.

The Filipino wants his life to get better without lifting a finger.

The Filipino wants to be spoon-fed and taken by the hand.

The Filipino wants to be babied and cajoled by the rest of the world.

The Filipino wants the fruit of hard work to fall from the tree into his gaping mouth.

The Filipino wants respect to be handed to him on a silver platter without the need to reciprocate it.

In short, the Filipino is lazy.

What does he plan to do about it, you might ask? That’s the problem; he has lived with his laziness so long that he has forgotten what it feels like to get up. He has lived in inhospitable conditions for so long that anything considered merely acceptable in other more developed places is a wonder to him. He has been told, more than once, that it takes discipline, hard work, and sustainable thinking to utilize his environment, his skills, and his resources properly.

The world is changing; Filipinos need to adapt to the ever-changing climate, environment, and times. The time has come for the three-headed dragon of pwede-na-yan, bahala-na, and impunity to lose its heads once and for all.

The Filipino needs to be deconstructed so he can be rebuilt anew, towards a more progressive path.

The Filipino needs to realize that once he changes his attitude, everything else becomes a lot easier.

The Filipino needs to get his act together.

The time to start is now.

Re: Dating Middle Class Filipinas

I was thinking that if I dated higher maybe I could avoid the problems I associate with the lower classes: lying, cheating, and having to support them entirely. I also think many of these girls are "screwed up" mentally from their upbringing. Can you still get very attractive ones in the middle class that want a foreign man?

the problems you are facing is not due to the lower class...it has to do with the fact that your dating the wrong type of women....Manila women probably??? I would avoid Quezon CIty, Rizal, ANtipolo...basically anywhere in Metro Manila....I would stay away from Angeles city as well

From my experience korean men seem to be getting the cream of the crop in terms of non-middle class women in the Philippines.

Most likely because you had chosen to set a very low bar for yourself from the very beginning.

To be honest, I doubt you would have succeeded in getting involved with an educated, intelligent girl. You weren't really looking for much beyond your immediate physical gratification. It was just cheap, available sex you were after all along, which explains your 5-year residence in a shithole whore town like Angeles.

"Perhaps" they were right? LOL

And I suppose you actually took your time to consider and objectively evaluate such advice?

And based on such an objective, dispassionate evaluation, you determined at the time that such advice was wrong-headed and flawed?

I gotta hand it to you, Winston, you really are one of a kind!

It's not too hard to figure out...

If you live a middle class OR BETTER lifestyle in the Philippines, you tend to meet girls from that level.
Its not rocket science for God's sake. Can you afford a nice condo (in the city)
or a decent house in a gated subdivision...or a country house with walled compound ?

If you can afford that and live at that level, you will tend to meet middle class or better Filipinas.
Wow..how clever is that? It is so frigging OBVIOUS.

Girls at that level do NOT want meet broke foreigners living in dumpy apartments who spend their time
looking for cheap f***s. You cannot begin to understand the contempt that Filipinos from that strata
have for slumming ogres.

Isn't this all kind of a "Duh!" moment?

We have thousands of middle class Filipinas who join our site. Although most commonly the men do upgrade (and the women don't), on our site many women also upgrade so that they can communicate with anyone they want. More Filipinas 30-60 years old living in the Philippines upgrade (with credit cards) than men Filipinos living in the Philippines. Our personal experience is that to court sincere middle class Filipinas you would have to be even more patient than courting sincere lower-class Filipinas. Also many American men find the middle class Filipino values closer to Western (materialistic and liberated) than the lower class Filipino values, although you really have to consider this on a case by case basis. On our site the ladies tend to be more traditional than on some of the other sites, and this applies to the ladies from all backgrounds.

When it comes to lying, another tip to keep in mind is that you need to learn to listen to subtle aspects of Filipina's communication. Unless she has been with westerners quite a lot, she will tend to be uncomfortable at first answering questions directly, preferring instead to allude to the answer you want without answering it directly. It's probably best to consider in advance whether you can accept this about a person, because if not, you should greatly limit your choices and only consider Filipinas for LTR who have experience with western directness. Good luck!

Here's a good way to meet some middle class Filipinos/Filipinas, on Meetup.com.

Here are some Meetup groups in Manila for example:

Manila Spiritual Seekers

http://www.meetup.com/Manila-Spiritual-Seekers/

Manila International Social Club

http://www.meetup.com/theMISC/

Ok Philippines Group

http://www.meetup.com/okphilippines/

What do you think? Any of you have experiences with Meetup.com?

I went to some of their meetings in Seattle long ago. Very nice people there, but hot chicks don't tend to go to their meetings.

I'll give you an example. I'm an insurance agent for one of the top 3 insurance companies in the US. Our customer service call center is in Manila. I talk to them on a daily basis. Often times when talking to one of the female CSRs I mention that my wife is Filipino. It's VERY common to say that they are jealous and they'd like to come live in the US as well. In order to get this job, you need a 4 year degree, a good command of the English language and some smarts.

Why do they want to come to us the US? Because most of them will cap out at $300-$400 per month. If they are smart girls, they know it's possible to come to the US and make 10x as much money. Are they gold diggers? No not necessarily! They are normal girls from good families that realize they can move overseas and use their brainpower to better their lives. They grow up dreaming of the things you and I take for granted.

Fact of the matter is that $300 monthly salary won't buy them a 1500 square foot house or a semi late model vehicle.

My wife had a similar story. She graduated with a 4 year degree in biology. Unable to find a job in biology, she took a job in industrial sales and did very well. But she soon realized the ceiling in the Phils is pretty darned low. So she wanted out of her native country.

Sure you are correct, most middle class girls will marry and stay in Phils and be perfectly content. But many other pretty young smart Filipinas want out. Boom that's your target audience right there in a nutshell. They are out there.....trust me. Go out and find them :)

Sure you are correct, most middle class girls will marry and stay in Phils and be perfectly content. But many other pretty young smart Filipinas want out. Boom that's your target audience right there in a nutshell. They are out there.....trust me. Go out and find them :)

well that does make sense...but they wouldnt go out with any joe shmoe or sex monger...you would have to at least make yourself appealing to them

middle class girls remind me of traditional rural girls but without the financial backing....

Here are some Meetup groups in Manila for example:

Manila Spiritual Seekers

Manila International Social Club

Ok Philippines Group

What do you think? Any of you have experiences with Meetup.com?

I went to some of their meetings in Seattle long ago. Very nice people there, but hot chicks don't tend to go to their meetings.

just curious what is middle class to you??

chinese or mestizo types???

both groups rarely date/marry out of their group

They won't look or talk to you twice if they have ANY inclination that you are in Asia for hookers. Best to keep that separate or do a really good job hiding it. Will they go with a Joe Schmoe? Let's put it this way, one of the prettiest Filipinas I've ever seen here in Seattle (and we have a huge Filipino population) had just moved to Seattle. She met and married a handy man. He was a nice guy but definitely average. She had just been hired as a teachers aide and since she had a few years experience teaching in Phils, they were going to fast track her to being a full time teacher. I'm guessing they both made 30k so combined 60k. Certainly not rich that's for sure. But she seemed happy!
