Ukranian customer service sucks-so frustrated!

Post by Banano » July 8th, 2011, 4:56 am

I went on website aerosvit.com and i ran into problem so i started live help, they are so unhelpfull n rude id say, my payment didnt go through n they dont try to be proactive to help you book ticket, I was chatting with 4 different operators in process n asked if theres any other way of payin, maybe by phone n they all just answered short 'No' n didnt offer any solutions or apology, then 2 of them just stopped talking to me, its bloody problem that needs to be solved but their attitude is so fkd, i had a feeling they they dont need to do business with me. never happens in australia, they are on a different level when it comes to customer service n politness.Hate that dont care attitude, who empoles these morons who cant solve any prob, 3 diff operators...i realised when they see they cnt help u they just ignore u, in western country that would b sackable offence if you do it a few times n i think these guys do it all the time.

Next thing is i called ukranian embassy in australia regarding visa, same thing, they are so straight, no politness.I told em i need visa asap, he answered ot takes 4 working days then i asked is there any way to get it sooner he answered 'no , 4 working days or no visa' with the tone like dont u dare to ask me questions, ok 4fkn wrkin days...next question was 'do i need to book hotel for the whole period of my stay'?he said yes the i said can i just book a few days since im not sure which places im gonna go to, i mean i hate to book hotels in advance, offers me no flexibility then he blasted me saying 'u book for the whole period if you want visa, if ukraininas have to book the whole period when coming to australia u do that too if you go to ukraine or dont go, no visa'; he started lecturing me;i had to interupt him i told him his an idiot for raising his voice n he got worked up for no reason,I nung up, 2 simple questions pushed him over the edge, how the fuk they get jobs in embassy with skills like that? is this side effect of communisam, took its toll on ppl,you are not expected to question authority? I find em so unhelpfull, rude n so not polite bordering arrogance...what do you think, is there something to it?

Yes it's one of the residual effects of communism. China and people from the former Soviet Union share many of the same [bad] habits. In San Francisco Chinese and Russian grandmas still push and shove getting on the bus, even though there's plenty of room. (This isn't 1960s Beijing or Moscow!). Some people are self-aware and over-ride cultural norms and idiotic traditions but most are not and live their lives in auto-pilot, not questioning anything and thus never changing or improving.

I much prefer the bad service you describe with the fake/plastic and very dehumanzing form of service here in the States. Although it does still affect them it doesn't take as big a toll on the worker to be rude. I can handle an employee being rude, I can't handle someone faking being cheerful, because it cheapens real emotions. It's typical of evil-run world that people in neutral countries like Greece or Spain will either be consumed by "Angloization" where everyone fakes happiness, or succumb to this bleak 1984 type environment where you're not allowed to show happiness. This developing socialist "new world order" shows the negatives of both.

Hey Bananaman,

When I lived in Ukraine I was the same - cut to the point. Because why do I need to be smiley-happy to you? You are not my brother, not my friend, not even my neighbor! Customer service? It is provided to you, but no one is licking your ass. Your questions annoy them and they really show it because they are not afraid of showing emotions. The part I agree with - Aerosvit should've at least tried to offer you some other way of getting tickets, but people that are hired hate their low pay and it shows, unlike U.S. where people are scared of being fired even from McDonalds.

You have to understand - it is a whole different mindset over there, mentality, way of life and happiness, social interaction etc. So get used to "bad" customer service by Western standards and be pleased to see very open and "real" people around. There will be very "real" friends and very "real" enemies, I mean most people will be indifferent to you, but some will show their hate towards you, especially if you are around any drunk Ukrainian guys - they may hug you or punch you so you bleed extensively ;) Don't be scared, street fights don't surprise anyone over there. Since you are foreign, you will have more protection from local law enforcement, but don't expect them to provide great service again :)

I was thinkin they prbbly pay em peanuts so there is no point workin hard, its maybe not communisam that made em they way they are, if i was in china or say thailand or vietnam my experience would ve been different. You are right ppl here smile at you like retards just to sell you smthin, normally that would be sign of mental illness
Hard work pays off in future, laziness pays off now:)

You may start to wonder why you want to go to Ukraine. In Mexico, people have a natural way of being polite to each other, and it is ingrained into the culture and doesn't come off phoney at all. I went to Ukraine once and didn't go back.

Go through a travel agent when dealing with their visas, etc. Let 'them' get you visas/hotels/tickets. etc. When I go to Saudi, I go through recruiters. These have an inside track. I always try and avoid dealing with such authorities directly.
Keep in mind that at least you can get a visa. Western nations won't issue ordinary Ukrainians any tourist visas at all. They will politely refuse. Here, at least, they will be rude, but get ready to pay and you will get your visa.
Here in the Philippines, I always go to a travel agent to get visas, residence IDs, etc. I have sworn to myself that I will never deal with immigration, visas, etc alone. I would rather overpay a bit but get things done and avoid the rude people there.
There is a reason many immigrants in the US use lawyers, too.
A brain is a terrible thing to wash!

I noticed all the youtube comments were about how she's a "milf" and how ridiculsouly sexy her legs are. :? Are we looking at the same woman? I wouldn't go near that cancer with a 10 foot pole. It shows you how horny and yet sexually repressed American men are. Masturbating all day, dreaming about sex all night but never getting any. What a bunch of chumps. It's a monkey with a vagina and they're putting her and similar types on the pedestal and treating them like a goddess.

My sexual repression doesn't afflict my vision; I did not wear beer goggles on this one. I said for an AW she has a nice ass; I never said her face is hot and that personality sores. Uy! LOL

Do you talk as bad as you write? Maybe that's why customer service sucked. I must say, it's very surprising to read such poor writing from an Australian, since I had always assumed Aussies and Brits were more capable expressing themselves in English than Americans, many of whom don't seem able to spell. Your spelling is bad, your sentences run on, and it's very difficult to read what you're saying. Try writing like a normal, reasonably intelligent human being, and maybe you won't get treated like a retard.

I don't know why 2Fly has a problem with typical Customer Service in America which goes beyond smiling faces and thank you. Being an actual help to a customer is LOST on much of Mainline Europe. Some people need to have to hand held through some things. But in much of these countries you don't have much choice or competition, so your stuck with whatever service is in your area. But in America you have competition for services and products, good customer services leads to repeat business and also recommendation to friends and family. People aren't stupid. This is why CS is the focus of so many companies. As I said this is lost on much of the rest of the world.
