It's boycott time?

Post by Justin »

I feel sorry for people who raise hysteria over boycotting everything Russian whether it is vodka, Olympics or Russian ports because of the anti-gay law. Just ask yourself, how it will help LGBT community in Russia? Will it become stronger or consolidated? It's already clear that boycott will only harm all LGBT individuals in Russia and in the world because someone really wants to present Russian anti-gay law as something that violates the rights of LGBT community while it's not. The main goal of the law is to protect children from propaganda of same-sex relations. I've read a lot about gay athletes who said they will come to Olympics for sure and this shows they understand the real purpose of Russian law while some musicians and actors continue spreading nonsense about Russia and its laws. This is a pure lack of understanding and that is what really harms the LGBT community. Understanding is the key, but many people simply don't need it. And that is why all these crazy ideas about boycott appear.
