You got that right, there a few other forums where most the Westerners going to Colombia all seem to be going to Medallion, Bogota and BQ. You may not have an edge there but idk for sureMrPeabody wrote:It's happy because the guerrillas kept Americans from buying up the country. European blood is cold by nature. Granted I was in the Basque Country. Not really Spain proper. I lived there for a year. I did travel a bit to other parts of Spain. Whereas the girls in the Basque Country were completely cold, asexual, shy and withdrawn, in other parts of Spain, it wasn't impossible to meet women. Yet, I wasn't really received any better than in the USA no matter where I went.ryanx wrote:Why is that? How long did you live there?rudder wrote:Spain is not worth the effort. Colombia is. I'd say Spain is far from ideal but not like the country it conquered either.ryanx wrote:Why is that? How long did you live there?rudder wrote:Spain is not worth the effort. Colombia is. There is apart of this story that Rudder isn't telling us. If he's a typical White guy, finding a girl in Spain should be hard all at, though Spanish is highly recommended.
Spanish people are white, so I don't think there is much exotic value for a "white guy". They are not like most Latin Americans who are mixed race.djfourmoney wrote:I'd say Spain is far from ideal but not like the country it conquered either.ryanx wrote:Why is that? Don't let me discourage you. The Basque Country is known all over Spain for having the most prudish women. Outside of the Basque Country I rarely mingled with the local Spaniards, so I'm not your best barometer for success there. One night I went to Burgos and met some cool Spanish girls hanging out near a Plaza, and they were interested in me. Outside of the Basque Country people were more helpful and socially open. I remember when I first got out of the subway in Madrid I was dragging my suitcase up the stairs and a girl came and picked up the end of the suitcase from behind to help me out. I thought it was the sweetest thing, and a taste of coming attractions. But I spent my year in the Basque Country, and the women there weren't like that at all.ryanx wrote:If a "mid-twenties, 6'tall, white Irish background with brown hair and blueish eyes, I'm physically fit on the lean side." did not get a warm reception. what chance do I have?
I travelled through Andalucia for a couple weeks, but I didn't even try meeting any locals. All the Spaniards point to Andalucia as having the friendliest women. It may or may not be true. I can't confirm either way..
On the whole, however, I think the people (guys and girls) were just interested in me as a novelty. I spent a year there, and towards the end I realized I didn't have any lasting friendships from the experience. I texted a few people I met throughout the course of the year I was there and let them know I was going back to the USA soon, and invited them to hang out one last time. Nobody even responded to me. A really shitty feeling. Kind of left a bad taste in my mouth.
I lived with an Italian girl in a flat for one month while I was there, and she expressed the same sentiment about the people in the Basque Country. It's just one of those places where the people think they are the shit, but they're not. The people would always tell me empty false truths like, "Once you make friends with a Basque person, they'll be your friend for life." Well I made a LOT of friends while I was there, learned their language fluently, and I can't say any friendship lasted longer than 9 or 10 months. Basques would buy me beers and whatnot when they learned about the "Yankee" that knew their language, but forget about any long-lasting friendships. Even the USA is better for making good friends.
One thing the Basques do truthfully note about themselves is how sexually desperate their society is because of the women. A common phrase was, "Aqui, no se folla." Basically, "Here, You don't get laid."
I was actually thinking about approaching a zionist TV network to pitch the idea for a new PUA-based reality show, where a bunch of sleezy dudes from the USA travel to the Basque Country for the gauntlet challenge of bedding a Basque girl. As you can imagine, that would make for quite a fetching program. I sure poured a lot of blood sweat and tears into the challenge and came up empty handed. But, I think that's mostly because I was into Neil Strauss and PUA BS back then. Trying to do opinion openers in Basque was the most futile thing ever. The women just thought I was insane. Especially since no strangers ever talk to each other anyway. So, if you ever decide to go there, make sure you only do direct approaches. They don't respond to random guys "innocently" chatting them up. Also, start your approach in English, and then slowly switch to Basque or Spanish. Most of the time I would start in Basque or Spanish, so sometimes they probably couldn't tell if I was foreign or just retarded.

I don't know what's so special about the Basque country and the challenge of bedding one of those girls from Catholic fundamentalist (and hypocrite - they're the Opus Dei bastion) families.
Better move to Madrid and Barcelona, full of those leftwing girls with amazing personalities...roll a joint, talk about the benefits of socialism, two bottles or Rioja and bocadillos, your clothes soaked in cigarette smoke, then the connection happens. It happened to me (in 2004) and it was beautiful and decadent.

All my little Inca Latin American relatives living in Spain are dating or have married Spanish people.
If you can't speak Spanish then it is going to be hard. I think women like to see something of themselves in them and I don't think most Spanish women like that Anglo-Saxon look anyway. I have never known successful British men in Spain on the romantic front but if they're there long enough, they're bound to get someone.

Correct. In fact, Brits are often looked down upon because of the vacationing chavs down in Costa Del Sol. I also find that Anglo-Western culture and Iberian culture tend to sometimes clash with regard to men and women. There are exceptions of course, but that has been my impression.yick wrote: ↑August 21st, 2020, 9:10 pmAll my little Inca Latin American relatives living in Spain are dating or have married Spanish people.
