Height in Latin American CountriesModerators: fschmidt, jamesbond Height in Latin American CountriesHey all.
I'm a short, white American male that is just under 5'6 (I'm about 167 cm). Despite this, I've done okay with women in the US, but I've obviously experienced some discrimination because of it. I was just wondering how important height is in Latin American countries. I do realize that the average height is shorter in these countries, which makes me feel a bit better. Also, if it matters, I have multiple pairs of shoes with lifts that get me into the 5'7-5'8 range. any latin american country that has less europeans and blacks tend to have shorter men as many mestizos and native looking men here on average are not as tall. at 5´6 you wont be considered that short everywhere in LA but argentina or chile in my opinion.

the dude abides Awesome. Thanks for the response man! I agree with royaldude. Most of the Latin Americans I have met and seen are very much shorter than Americans. It is very noticeable. The more indigenous/ Indian blood, the shorter they tend to be.
I would also bet that in southern Italy, Sicily, Spain, Portugal, and possibly places like Albania and Romania would have some short guys as well.
For what it's worth, my Colombian acquaintance must be 5'2". He is smart, reasonably handsome, and successful. Not educated imho, but very smart. He has a wife in Colombia, a mistress in California, and another in Florida. A child with each. He visits regularly. He is not a ladies' man type or a big talker, more quietly confident.
The mistress here in California is at least 5'5".... and stacked. I get the impression that he is not considered outlandishly short in his country. "Well actually, she's not REALLY my daughter. But she does like to call me Daddy... at certain moments..."
6'3 is average? Are you from Holland? "A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world." -Oscar Wilde
"Invincibility is in oneself, vulnerability is in the opponent" -Sun Tzu they consider that short everywhere in Latin America ![]()
