it seems the reason you feel better in Philipines is that Uncertainty avoidance there is much lower than in Taiwan,at the same time less Individualistic than the USA

Thing is, the UI is almost identical with USA, which Winston had the hardest time with.

It is just more openess and lack of Western materialistic values.
