Interesting article about some of the less talked about countries that are affordable to live in. Laos, Zimbabwe, Fiji, Grenada, Nicaragua, Armenia etc.

I would add The Gambia to the list, especially now that there is a new more moderate president replacing the former guy of over 20 years.

Some positive - great weather (not too hot much of year but warm), wonderful beaches, easy flight access to a few Euro countries, very cheap living cost, English language, safe, proximity to several interesting and varied W. African countries.

Gambia has been quite a popular holiday destination in the past. I would go for a vacation, but it's not the sort of country I would consider living. Actually, nowhere in Africa appeals to me in that sense.

Why is that? Where in the world would you consider besides where you are now?

The Philippines, because I know it well. Perhaps even Guangzhou in China. Hong Kong and Singapore would be considered but both are expensive places to live in.
