ISP's have resolved to restrict the Internet to a TV-like subscription model where users will be forced to pay to visit selected corporate websites by 2012, while others will be blocked, according to a leaked report. Despite some people dismissing the story as a hoax, the wider plan to kill the traditional Internet and replace it with a regulated and controlled Internet 2 is manifestly provable.
"Bell Canada and TELUS (formerly owned by Verizon) employees officially confirm that by 2012 ISP's all over the globe will reduce Internet access to a TV-like subscription model, only offering access to a small standard amount of commercial sites and require extra fees for every other site you visit. These 'other' sites would then lose all their exposure and eventually shut down, resulting in what could be seen as the end of the Internet," warns a report that has spread like wildfire across the web over the last few days.
The article, which is accompanied by a You Tube clip, states that Time Magazine writer "Dylan Pattyn" has confirmed the information and is about to release a story - and that the move to effectively shut down the web could come as soon as 2010.

People have raised questions about the report's accuracy because the claims are not backed by another source, only the "promise" that a Time Magazine report is set to confirm the rumor. Until such a report emerges many have reserved judgment or outright dismissed the story as a hoax.
What is documented, as the story underscores, is the fact that TELUS' wireless web package allows only restricted pay-per-view access to a selection of corporate and news websites. This is the model that the post-2012 Internet would be based on.
People have noted that the authors of the video seem to be more concerned about getting people to subscribe to their You Tube account than fighting for net neutrality by prominently featuring an attractive woman who isn't shy about showing her cleavage. The vast majority of the other You Tube videos hosted on the same account consist of bizarre avante-garde satire skits on behalf of the same people featured in the Internet freedom clip. This has prompted many to suspect that the Internet story is merely a stunt to draw attention to the group.
Whether the report is accurate or merely a crude hoax, there is a very real agenda to restrict, regulate and suffocate the free use of the Internet and we have been documenting its progression for years.

The original Internet will then be turned into a mass surveillance database and marketing tool. The Nation magazine reported in 2006 that, "Verizon, Comcast, Bell South and other communications giants are developing strategies that would track and store information on our every move in cyberspace in a vast data-collection and marketing system, the scope of which could rival the National Security Agency. According to white papers now being circulated in the cable, telephone and telecommunications industries, those with the deepest pockets--corporations, special-interest groups and major advertisers--would get preferred treatment. Content from these providers would have first priority on our computer and television screens, while information seen as undesirable, such as peer-to-peer communications, could be relegated to a slow lane or simply shut out."

If the internet were to be "shut down", the greatest tragedy is that there is absolutely no alternative at this point in time. The grass roots MUST start working on alternative means of mass communication, like obtaining radio stations, am and fm, ham radio, mailings and whatever else people can think of. We, the people, must be able to network and support these methods of communication. The internet is an awesome weapon of Truth. The NWO absolutely knows this. None of the allegations would surprise me at all. When you think about it, the Internet is too good to be true. Especially in these times of mass media buyouts, total domination and compartmentalization, government infiltration and sanctioning of television networks, mass censorship, a majority of what we see, read and hear under control of a few corporate empires which dictate govt. approved content, and the MSM utilized as propaganda orifice for "elites" and government pro fascism pro war agenda while turning a blind eye- refusing to report what they don't want us to see if the story doesn't fit the plan. The Internet is a breath of fresh air! I for one certainly don't take it for granted. I am extremely thankful Internet exists in its present state for truth in these times of universal deceit, lies, cover-up and massive manipulations in what has become "our" government. Where would we be without it?
The Internet is the last truly democratic medium in existence that is not controlled. They don't have stranglehold over it like everything else. The Internet hasn't been dumbed down, sanitized, corporatized, censored and tailored to fit their agenda, like everything else. Everyone needs to contact their ISPs and tell them you will cancel their service if they decide to go along with this. The last couple years when renewing my ISP I always mention that I will cancel if forced onto Internet 2. Unfortunatly I think the transition has already began. Service is not what it used to be.

The 'original' Internet doesn't not look a thing like it was designed to

There are technologies yet to be invented in 2012 that may make

Everyone needs to contact their ISPs and tell them you will cancel their service if they decide to go along with this. The last couple years when renewing my ISP I always mention that I will cancel if forced onto Internet 2. Unfortunatly I think the transition has already began. Service is not what it used to be.

I believe they will try to shut down the Internet most definitely. That
is definitely their design. However, when you consider the Internet;
design + intent rarely = result.
The 'original' Internet doesn't not look a thing like it was designed to
look like. It's creators will laugh or spin in their graves to see all

It would be pretty hard to do. The internet transmission protocol (or language) is called TC/IP and it was designed to reinvent a transmission path spontaneously in the event that a chock point gets established. TC/IP was designed by the military as way of continuing communications in the event of one (or many) rebroadcast "nodes" gets knocked out by an enemy. TC/IP is self regenerating--and the messages still get through.
You can gain access to the internet wirelessly, by satelliate, by cable or by ( DSL) telephone lines. Once you're on you can set up a web site. Private companies like google index all the sites and make them available for searching. Even if ma bell created a choke point for all but their web sites--TC/IP would find away around it and find an alternative pathway to your site.
Now if someone bought all the searching companies and all of the access companies--something that no company has done--then yes they could stop the internet--but then you wouldn't have much of anything to use it for.

As I understand it, the basis of the Internet is a group of military mainframes. If that's true, the government could theoretically shut it down whenever it wanted.
However that would be 'killing the golden goose', so to speak.
With the current state of the economy, it's understandable that the government would want more tax dollars out of the internet, and corporations just want more money, period.
So I can see an 'official' Internet that costs an arm and a leg, and a 'pirate' Internet used by everyone else...

The US government can and will shut down American's access to the internet whenever it wants to. Just like it can turn off GPS.
CERN (European Research group that runs the Haldron Collider on thr French/Swiss border) has already developed its own Internet, independent of Internet 1. So have many other institutions. We will just de-volve into many private Internets, not one global one.

There are only 13 master root servers for the whole internet. Kill them and internet traffic wouldn't know where to go.

Freedom is only maintained when people actively protect it and doesn't abuse it. To draw an analogy, credit card companies only do business in countries where they can make a profit. If enough people abuse the credit system or steal from it, making it unprofitable, then the credit card companies would shut down. Despite the numerous credit fraud problems we have in the US, it's still a profitable business, and thus it exists and is widely available in the USA.
Free access to the internet is kind of like that. So long as the government consider it a benefit and the people don't abuse it too much, the freedom of access will be maintained. But if enough people steal copyrighted music and video from bittorrent, then the government will eventually step in and regulate peer to peer services. ACME and friends can't just turn the light switches off and take their bat and ball and go home. They are too large to be unnoticed. The only way you can protect bigger than life companies is by being totally transparent with your actions at a scale that almost belies belief............
So, if indeed the internet was a target for greater regulation (as is the case in Australia presently) or worse, and the internet is the largest industry in the world, then it would take a catalytic event of proportions we can not even imagine, for there to be no internet.
