I imagine the employers will have a field day assigning the lowest most despicable salary they could get away with at those job applicants who manage to get hired.

Do you not understand economics? The minimum wage is a barrier to entry for the less experienced. It increases unemployment.

It's GUARANTEED to be over 30% and climbing. A TON of people who had jobs lasting decades have now lost them. Good people are easily replaced to low-class scum/women in the retail world. And the rest are done over by hispanics, who work for peanuts and practically increase unemployment by their damn selves.
