Finding a matchmaker in the Philippines

Post by Hero »

Since I don't really like looking for female companionship online, I was wondering if it would be feasible to hire somebody in the Philippines to act as a matchmaker. I could send this person my bio and photos, and they could look for some nice girls (between 18-25 y.o., virgins, at least 5'2", and beautiful) for me to hang out with when I come back to the Philippines. The younger the girl, the more I would pay the matchmaker. And of course, there would be more bonuses depending on how much I liked the girl; the biggest bonus would come if I actually married the girl. What do you think? I think it would be a great opportunity for a Filipina/Filipino who needs some extra cash.

Forget about what you wanna do; on these streets you do what you've gotta do

The Philippines has laws that make match making to foreigners illegal. Yup, that's just that. Illegal.

You will not need to worry about finding girls there. Walk into any department store, talk to sales girls everywhere. There are millions of them everywhere. Many just come up to you. Go to restaurants, parks, talk to waitresses, hotel staff. Most are friendly and want to make friends with you.

As far as looking for them online, well, you can find an unusual contingent on friendster.com and tagged.com. These are not girls looking for foreigners and to leave the country- they are just looking for friends. Put in your requirements by age and country and then send them messages. You would not believe what beauties you would meet there. One out of ten would usually respond. Get their YM ID and chat with them. Very few foreigners go that route.

Then go and visit them. It is imperative that you visit them.

If you do not like the girl, you could always ask her to introduce you to someone else.

But matchmaking for money is illegal in the Philippines (since circa 1989-1991)

Sh*t!!! Yeah, I know I can meet girls in shopping malls, but still, it takes time to meet somebody really special. For example, I met a girl who looks like J. Lo in Ayala mall, but by then my vacation was almost over and we only had time for one date. Oh well, guess I'll give Friendster a try.

Well, Friendster isn't working out for me. I've sent out dozens of messages and invitations, and I've only added 2 friends! (Yes, I did include some nice photos of myself on my profile).

How about trying Manila's Craigslist? They have personal ads there and the women do tend to write back and show their photos. Just go to http://www.craigslist.com and select Manila in the directory. There is also a site for Cebu and Davao but they have less people on them.

Lots of girls seem to use Yahoo chat, so maybe visiting the Philippine based chat rooms should work. Yahoo seems to be the preferred portal/email in the Philippines for some reason. Also look through Yahoo profiles and search Philippines or Manila, lots of girls will show up.

I'm having better luck with tagged.com; I've been able to add a lot of cute girls to my friends list. :)

Don't know why it's so hard on Friendster. :?

W: Probably cause Friendster is mainly for Filipino friends to show off their profiles to each other and maintain a cyber counterpart of their friendships, kind of like myspace is for American girls. The people on Friendster aren't trying to meet new people, and if they are, they aren't usually interested in foreigners. That's why most profiles on there are marked private and viewable only to the person's list of friends.

The only problem with tagged.com is that the pretty girls always have dozens of male "friends" listed on their profiles (most of whom will never actually get on a plane and go to the Philippines to visit them).

For some reason, the computers at the public library have blocked tagged.com. WTF is up with that? It's hardly porn. :?

Pretty girls on Tagged and Friendster get noticed by thousands of guys and get lots of friends requests. But most guys will not visit the girl.

The dating 100% work like this, I guess- if you contact them in Tagalog, it is some 8-20% response. I guess in English it is some 2% -4% response. So, you send out 100 invitations and get 2-4 girls. Once the contact is established, you will probably get 30% of those interested in meeting you. So, you do your math. Like in any sales operation ( and that is what it is, basically) percentages and numbers get response. And it is well worth it. I have met some real cute girls there and went to date one. I have one from Tagged sending me texts now. Usually it was like 20-30 invitations but all in Tagalog.

The thing is do remember that you are witnessing the growing up of a new adult generation in the Philippines with limited English proficiency. Some 15 -25 years ago, a Filipino was sinonymous with an "English speaker". That is no longer the case. So, investing in Tagalog or Visaya study if one plans to go there often is a good move. Now, many Filipinas are English- and foreigner- shy, just like other Asian girls. That did not used to be the case, but it is now.

Also, be careful about requests for money. Some girls may already have boyfriends or live-in partners and will milk you for 'tuition' while in reality, giving money to their boyfriends and their extended families whose members are as numerous as plankton in the sea. I have lost a bit of money trying to help some very cute girls who took me to the cleaners.

Thanks for the site links, they could come in handy. I assume you use them in KSA without any issues?

Whoa! I've had a better response rate than that. I mean, I just have to say "Mabuhay", and about 50% respond to me. They really appreciate my efforts to learn Tagalog, even if I do know just a few words.

That would explain why the quality of the girls on Filipinaheart.com has taken a nose dive in the past 2 years.

Well, looks like the library has blocked the proxy sites too. :x Big surprise. Why
the heck would they block tagged.com but not friendster?

I put in a request to have tagged.com unblocked. I hope that they at least give me
an explanation of why it was blocked.

Hero, so the library you're at hasn't blocked this site? I heard the Army library does. Are you in a city library?

Yep, it's a city library. They haven't blocked your site (yet).

I found nude pictures of a girl on her profile on tagged.com, so that would explain how it got blocked. But the library also blocked anastasiaweb.com, a decision that I can't figure out at all.
