Winston's Counterpart in Moldova -Poorest Place in Europe

Post by ladislav »

There is a guy in Moldova- the poorest country in Europe and he is a singer. He is an average looking guy, short and middle aged and he has a belly. By American standards he is a nobody but in that country he is a superstar. At least in his videos he is. He even looks like Winston.

Introducing Nikolae Guta, the Winston of Moldova, the very normal guy who is having great fun in the correct location:

Moldovan music is lovely and so is the language. Hope you enjoy it.

These videos are shown on national television in Moldova. There is no outrage as what happened in N.Dacota.

Yes! I absolutely agree with this one. Moldova is extremely poor, but more important - their MEN ARE GONE! About 30-50% of adult male population had migrated to other countries in order to support their families, similar to Mexicans going to the U.S. Therefore, finding ANY man is good over there, finding DECENT man is like winning a BILLION dollar jackpot!

I am not joking! However, keep in mind that the country is ridden with corruption and girls could be actually raped by local policemen. Living up there is a possibility once you make a network of friends etc. Food is locally grown, very natural, same goes for girls! Just look at those videos!!! OMG, those girls are like purest Organic produce you can find! They look so beautiful and "natural"!

I would totally take a vacation in Moldova. Not to mention they are one of the largest wine producers in the world, similar to France and Italy. Wine, food, girls, summer... what else can you ask for? :D

I tried to go to Moldavia, but it was too hard to get a long-term visa - from memory it had the same rules as Russia and I couldn't afford all the money required to stay there as hotels also had Russian prices too.

No visa needed for 90 days out of 180. Same as Schengen.

also around any train station there should be people walking around and offering rooms and apartments. Then buy a USB stick and spend 3 months there. Go to Ukraine for 3 months and come back. Ad infinitum.

A USB stick portable Internet modem will allow you not to depend on expensive hotels and hostels for Internet access,so that you could just rent cheap rooms from locals and stay there like most local travelers do.
I was in Odessa and they had rooms for $12 a night and even less offered at the train station. Should be the same anywhere in the former SU.

While Winston is languishing in Taiwan, his doppelganger is continuing his wild adventures in Moldova inspiring all the men to do the same:

Just to shed some light on the individual above.

That guy is a gypsy singing "manele", shitty music for uneducated people. It's very popular in the countryside and among other gypsies.

The lyrics are always about how much money you have, how your enemies envy you, how you cheated on your wife etc. It's like hip hop only worse. Put that music in the same room with a girl who actually has some class and she'll dump you faster than you can ask why.

This article says it better than me:
Manele are a strongly disputed genre in Romania, with many representatives of Romanian upper-middle and intellectual class opposing this musical movement (and its popularization) mostly because of its usage of faulty grammar, overly simplistic or childish lyrics and subject matter and/or encouragement of demeaning behaviours towards other people, as well as an antisocial overall message. The fact that manele lyrics are considered by many to be rude and of poor taste, coupled with widespread racist feelings against Roma ethnics (Tigani/Gypsies),[4] who account for the bulk of manele performers, has led to increasing hostility between fans and opponents. This has generated frequent conflicts between the two, often in the form of internet flame wars.

In the media, manele have been repeatedly called by journalists and academics (such as the literary critic George Pruteanu) "pseudo-music",[1] "pure stupidity, inculture and blah-blah" or even "society's bed-wetter".[5] C. Tepercea, a National Audio-visual Board member who did a study on the genre for the board considered it "the genre for the mentally challenged" in an interview.[6] Even proposals to ban this type of music have been voiced.[1]

Romani-Romanian classical musician and politician Mădălin Voicu distinguishes between the original genre and today's interpreters, calling their work "kitsch and bad taste", "bad merchandise, easy to sing, and only sold to fools at a high price", but considers them to be "harmful", "simple music and brain damaging", "a representation of the lack of musical culture in society" and "a fad that is poised to vanish in the future".
So no, he's far from being an inspiration if you understood the lyrics, not to mention that it sounds like a dog howling while eating his own balls.

I was in Chisinau about 4 years ago. I found the women to be sour and standoffish (with a few exceptions). There were too few good restaurants and hotels were mostly deplorable.

The women were thin, but in the just ok category regarding looks.

I did not travel around the country so other areas could be better than the capital.

I still think it is worth it to visit there, but go with lower expectations.

But for someone stuck in Podunk with 300lbs local women who think they are hot, cold rain and snow and a howling wind he is an inspiration. He presents a much more fun lifestyle and around him you see slim girls dancing. And he looks like Winston.

Well I got my China visa so I'll be able to oggle all those women Winston dreams about!

I live in the UK and know very little about Moldova.

My dad loves Eastern European women, the Czech republic is his favourite country.

Drink vodka, or sleep. Those are your options.
