What is happening to Japan is quite scary. S. Korea is experiencing some of the same problems in their country. It also starting to spread to other tertiary Asian countries like China and Vietnam...albeit slowly. That is why I'm in the urgent search for a female before the whole of Asia becomes like Japan in a few decades...
This is really interesting how Asians are reacting differently from Western girls to feminism.
"Woman is a violent and uncontrolled animal... If you allow them to achieve complete equality with men, do you think they will be easier to live with? Not at all. Once they have achieved equality, they will be your masters." Cato the Elder
It's the East Asian mentality in play. Go to school, get a job, THEN try to find a nice partner and raise a family. It's something that was beaten into me since I was young. It works well for men, but when you apply that to men and women, disaster strikes. Men and women have different attraction indicators. Women are attracted to men who are generally older and economically more established. Men are attracted to women who are more youthful and pretty. You can't have both genders play the same rat race and hope to succeed. To be honest, us East Asians are pretty autistic about relationships. Relationship failures such as what is going on in Japan and elsewhere is result of an environment where men and women can no longer play their traditional roles.zboy1 wrote:What is happening to Japan is quite scary. No, i don't see it happening for at least 20 years in China. 20 years is a long time, so i can't predict beyond that.Ghost wrote:Do you think feminism will infect China? Before I came here, I was reading some things online that I thought indicated feminism was making some headway. Since being here, though, it doesn't seem like it is. I know I'm in a smaller city, but I've been to 5 cities in this province (Liaoning, which is apparently somewhat rich) and looked for anything suggesting that, but haven't seen anything serious so far. Women get paid less than men. Single moms are fined by the government. Women dress more conservatively much of the time. The marriage and divorce laws apparently beenfit men over women too. So it seems like China is doing well in this regard so far. Huge cities though, I don't know. But I think second and third tier China is still decent. (Not that a non-Asian foreigner like me can really fit in here and date easily IMO, but it is still good to see that China is keeping feminism at bay.)zboy1 wrote:What is happening to Japan is quite scary. And if places like the Philippines ever go feminist, I'm done. That's the only place where I can get a girlfriend.
You can also see this mentality in Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea. Malaysia and Thailand are the next most developed countries, but i really didn't see any signs yet there.
In Mainland China, you might see it a little in shanghai and shenzhen and mostly toward the poorer, more average Chinese-- mainly with regards to money, still not quite so much on looks.
I definitely saw it in Singapore and Taiwan, but i didn't see it as much in Hong Kong-- maybe it's close proximity to China and the getting bombarded daily with Mainland tourists.
No for all those reasons you listed. China is a man's world. Women like their roles there as well. They are both on the same page for the most part because they understand the big picture.Ghost wrote:Do you think feminism will infect China? Feminism in China was the policy of the Chinese Communist Party, to liberate women from the oppression of traditional values and traditional gender roles. What has changed since is Deng Xiaoping's economic reforms that lead to consumerism & hedonism. In reality, feminist teachings are inferior to socioeconomic factors. Just as communist indoctrination has a difficult time convincing parents that Disneyland is bad for their children, feminist teachings cannot keep women from "marrying up" or even becoming concubines to wealthy and powerful men. In China you'd find hundreds of thousands of women, indoctrinated with socialist & feminist values, coupling with Taiwanese and HK men as 2nd wives, lovers, or concubines.
Yes, the claptrap females are brainwashed with doesn't really matter, as females don't really take abstract ideas seriously and anything coming out of their mouths is just noise. What matters is what is in their interests on a given day. Advanced societies inevitably seem to degenerate into some form of feminism before bringing about their own destruction, as the level of organization enables a power grab by elite men at the expense of the majority of men, which is what feminism actually is. If the Chinese manage to have most females on the state dole in one way or another while at the same time impoverishing men then feminism is a done deal.
Re: Sex Disgust Syndrome In Japan
When I first saw your subject title, I thought it was about bizarre sex fetishes in Japan. The Japanese are a funny bunch of people and very much into fads and novelty items; the more bizarre (by Western standards), the better. Where else would you find "Love Hotels" , "Soapland massage parlors" and Fertility Festivals, complete with phallus worship idols. Then there's "cosplay", which is kind of kinky fantasy costume play.Taco wrote:About 40% to 50% of marriages in Japan are sexless.

40% to 50% of marriages in Japan are sexless because modern Japanese wives are becoming increasingly feminist and demanding, especially where sex is concerned and the poor Japanese husband not used to this new assertive and demanding woman, cannot deal with them and therefore avoids them as much as possible. That's one of the reasons he works late, then afterwards goes out to the bars and comes home very, very late, thereby avoiding the woman. Alcohol consumption is also on the rise.
The "loyal, pleasing, subservient" Japanese woman described in Jvargasbronx's thread "Pros and Cons of Japanese Women" doesn't exist.
It's a shame because I've always found Japanese women to be one of the most attractive of Asian women.
The handwriting is on the wall. Feminism is invading all the Asian countries like a malignant cancer. Perhaps the last vestige of hope is in Moslem countries, although I don't really find Moslem women and their dress standards particularly attractive.
