Why are College Books So Expensive?
I mean, on a certain level, I understand. You have the development cost and all that, and I believe the gross margins are around 7.5% for the company after all is said and done. Piracy is not as big of an issue yet, and although used books cut into their markets, that does not seem to be the issue, since most the expensive books are limited in what you get from Chegg and the like. I am thinking their distro model is broken, and government funding are to blame. What do yous think?

Never thought of it .I was kinda forced into college if I wanted to stay with my mom. Right now I got a job, and I am saving up so I can eventually get out (real estate) and travel a bit (I might be able to this year).

I got a book on that subject. Any other material on the subject? Perhaps Robert Kiyosaki I presume? The Trump book was good on basics, but never covered that.

Zacb, why not call the private lenders in your area?
www.biggerpockets.com is a good forum where you can ask real estate experts questions about real estate.
It might be in Kiyosaki's "The Real Book Of Real Estate" or in Ken Elroy's "The ABSs of Real Estate Investing".
I'm not sure which one.

Well, at the moment I would like to bring at least 10% to the table, show some good faith on my part. In addition, I only know one person in real estate that would perhaps be interested, but I don't know how to approach the subject. On the bright side, I am planning on visiting the Philippines this year, so not all hope is lost.

BTW, how hard would it be to post an offer on big pockets? I was reading, and apparently they have a forum section. I need to look into this. Perhaps with a little posting and such, I could be a partner, akin to JV partnerships online. Thanks for the idea .
