Low hanging is one thing but being with a hoe/scammer is not good for the long term though. its fun but it just kills your ego and you realize your spending it on a girl who doesn't care about you. I needed to start talking to them many months in advance, which I failed to do. Also, I should have spent WAY more time cold approaching. And next time, I'll go alone. I wanted to ditch her pretty early on (though, I ultimately learned a TON by keeping her around....so it worked out in the end).

I do not understand why Maverick who wrote the report gave in to this troll so quickly. He should contact the admin/moderators and waiting for a reaction from them before deleting the OP.

I read this trip report during lunchtime, found it interesting and considered now in evening to write a reply - to my surprise I find only more troll postings and angry replies to this troll and the trip report already deleted.

What remains now of this trip report are only these troll comments and those angry replies to this troll. Very pity indeed.

This was a good report, with many other small details, like food, jumping from island to island in the Philippines and meeting many people within a short time of only 14 days.

There was plenty of stuff for reasonable replies. This does not mean you must agree with the author of the report about all and everything what he writes.

For example about food in Cebu, there are plenty of not expensive restaurants in the shopping malls like Ayala, Robinson or nearby the malls, like next to the Country Mall - but there are also pension-houses which operate a cheap and good restaurant on the roof of their small hotels, for example behind the Osmena Circle.

Do not expect cheap and good food from eateries which are used by ordinary Filipino people. Philippine income is 3 times lower than those of China and Thailand. It is a poor country. Wide areas especially those next to the mountains are nothing but a big slum, often with bad water supply and brownouts. Many people do not have a refrigator, so what kind of food can you expect there?

As you stay only 14 days, better pay a little more in clean restaurants, with aircon and stainless kitchen. I am visiting Cebu since many years, I know the city very well and never found my food overpriced or of low quality.

Cebu in general is not for everybody and for sure you need time to find your way around, with the city itself and with the Filipinos living there. Good information where to go and what to do is sometimes not so easy to get.

What is confusing some visitors is that Cebu City is getting dark early and in night there is nothing outside except plenty of criminals. Make sure you are back in your hotel room not later than 11 PM for your own safety. Shopping malls are closing early too, usually at 9 PM.

A two week trip is a flash IMO, for such a short span you did great.

One of the great benefits of a location like this is not just the s*x, but the nice treatment you get from the ladies in general. That alone can be a life saver for many guys.

However it is not wrong to explain that you would recommend to do something differently if you have experience about living a certain foreign country - to be 'happier abroad' is not so easy and sometimes it is ending as 'miserable away'.

Here in Asia there are plenty of Western men who are not happier abroad. - They were cheated by foreign women, lost their money for strange businesses, do suffer a lot as they have no health insurance and cannot pay for medical services, show up with expired visa and even expired passports, own nothing just sitting somewhere and counting the minutes and hours... often into drugs and alcohol...finally jumping out of a window or sent home...

While I recommend every Western man to get on an airplane and to discover the world, I think it is fair to say, before your departure make sure you are financially stable for relocation. If not, better take only vacation, enjoy a few weeks and go home again, working and for saving up for a better future.

In this sense, Maverick did the right thing, 2 weeks and back again, nice trip and good time and back to work.
