Interesting photo.

Somewhat less dignified than your avatar.

Photo was taken at the EMP Museum, Paul Allen's Hendrix/Cobain museum in Seattle. A very cool place for anyone ever coming to Seattle. There was a section on the history of horror and sci fi movies which is where that poster came from. I guess that was their notion in the 50s of what was supposed to be scary.

Obviously if you read the piece, the title "And they said it wouldn't last" was tongue in cheek. A year's not that long, though long enough to look back and make some fun observations.

Now I understand why AW and native English speaking women think so many of you lack social skills and graces.

don't worry I am sure the Hyksos will remedy the situation soon enough.

I guess you get to keep those women for yourself. You see, American women are overflowing with social skills and graces...so enjoy them all you wish.

Really a good friendly bunch we are, heh? :x

For all their bullshitting and posing, at least the manosphere forums can put up some semi-credible camaraderie and treat people claiming some success to a virtual pat on the back.

As soon as someone opens up with an genuine "happier abroad" item, the vultures of doom & gloom are ready to come down and fire up all the tritest stereotypes...gravy train...left when broke, etc. Both OW and Dave (and Pete, I believe) are mature and solid middle class. They never flaunted their assets like some other of you do, which means they had (or still have) real jobs and real financial stability, which is but a part of their success in the Phils. The other part being them being realistic with their expectations, and most importantly true with their desire to find love.

Not a hoe. Love. Not an orgy. Love. Not some cheap and short-lived ego-grooming. Love.

Some of you guys will better make up your mind soon, whether it's a realistic measure of happiness or a bombastic pornstar lifestyle dream, you're looking for. If it's the latter you're choosing, then don't complain when you are met with frustration and misery, and those you want to play end up playing you.

Thanks for this, publicduende!

I've been on HA for over 3 years and let's face it, it's not that happy a crowd. We all can agree on part of the problem (Western women's attitudes) but rarely acknowledge that Western men are also to blame. Most of us have drunk the Koolaid. So we go abroad looking for a place like our home countries but with better women and cheaper prices. Many of us do find better women and cheaper prices but we don't find a place like our home country. Some guys can adjust to a different culture and set of rules and some can't get rid of their Western notions. They are so ruined that they can't believe that a decent woman would accept, like and love them. But you can find such women. The problem is you can also easily find bad women which for some guys proves what the naysayers say.

There's an old cliche that if you think you can't do it - you're right. That's prevalent on HA.

You can find love in PI, but you can also find a hoe, an orgy, or cheap and short-lived ego-grooming. I have no problem with someone looking for those things. But that sort of search has consequences which are not sustainable. For such a guy p4p is really the best option. He then doesn't have to pretend he's looking for more and doesn't have to deal with a kind hearted girl who wants more.

BTW, since I've been blogging I've had a bunch of HA members subscribe to the blog and several have written me happy to read a blog with less negativity. So there are positive guys here. Unfortunately, most get drowned out by the other voices.

What do you know of his wife? From your extensive posting, you seemed to be into the monger life or girls who would put up with being a vacation GF. Believe it or not, there are actually women in the Philippines who are not accepting of any man who mongers and who are not at all interested in becoming
some vacation GF...AKA Free hooker.

Yes, if you run out of money, you cannot afford hookers. There actually are girls who are not for sale.
A gentleman will assume that another man's wife is one of those unless she does otherwise.

no such thing as a vacation gf being a free hooker. They are more expensive than putting a bargirl on the payroll sometimes (from my experience).

anyays ok you run out of money and see how things last in your marriage or any marriage with women in general. This applies to most women. I actually wish Davewe the best he is a nice guy and is open about his life even if he takes swipes at people who dissent. I wish to be in his situation if i was his age. but lets accept reality please.

Exactly! Those who tried that kind of life for a while have always been left emptier, drier and more lonely (not mention older) than before they started. Where is the challenge in hooking up with a girl who only needs you to pay her school bills or baby food and thinks her body for a few weeks is a fair exchange?

It could be if that guy has a thick enough skin. Yet, we see quite a few men here who complain about jumping from girl to girl trying to play while not being played and grabbing the odd bonus when possible, like a friggin' Super Mario videogame. They don't have such a thick skin after all. Like all of us, sooner or later they realise they need a real bond, somebody whose genuine feelings and commitment they can trust. And, often, by the time that realisation surfaces it's a little too late, as they don't have the social and emotional tools to attract the type of girl they are looking for.

Well, if you must know, I do read your blog regularly and love the honest if tongue in cheek accounts! It can't be further apart from the formulaic, fictional crap people flood the masculinity forums with.
