Not sure how thoroughly this topic has been discussed in the past, but it just seems to be a lot of miscellanea, based on my searches.

Here's my premise: as things get progressively worse in the US economically and the taxes get harsher and more and more biased against Americans leaving for other countries, I thought we could start a section for TAX and MONEY advice.

In particular, I'd like to personally know more about how to best get my money LEGALLY offshore and protected from the IRS, or just how to access their US bank/retirement accounts from overseas. For those who may also wish to follow the current trend of relinquishing their US passport, it would be good to know how to avoid exit taxes, capital control taxes, etc.

I have some good informational links to start off with, but obviously those who've already dealt with this can be the best sources of advice.

Remember, I'm interested in REAL and LEGAL options only. Is anyone an international tax accountant?
