Yohan,
Me and others have told you many times before, I speak basic Chinese only. I do not read or write Chinese. Where do you get that? I use a dictionary on my phone to help me fill in the gaps.

You are falsely assuming that all Chinese women that date me or befriend me want to go to America. Only a small percentage do. Not the majority. And not my new girlfriend in Shenzhen. She is studying to be a nurse and acupuncture specialist so she can work in China. Most Chinese girls I've asked may be interested in visiting the US, but not living there. Only the really materialistic gold digging types want to go to America.

Terrence,
Sorry but I am skeptical of your credibility. You say you lived in China for 5 years. Why are you unwilling to meet anyone to so that you can be vouched for? Why don't you disclose your location? Why do you refuse any meetups? No one can validate anything you say.

Also you claim that many hot girls in China and Japan are all over you. Yet in your Facebook profile, it lists your Filipina Fiancee's profile and photo. And no offense, but she is chubby and plain, not the type that most guys here find attractive. So if you had so many Chinese hotties to choose from, why did you sink down into dating a chubby Filipina and calling her your fiancee? That makes no sense. No offense though. Overall, your claims are spurious and random and not useful to any truth seeking discussion.

What about me does not fit into marriage with Chinese women? Can you be specific? There are many mainstream nice Chinese girls who are not demanding and materialistic. They just want a stable life. Didn't you know that?

Since my claims are spurious and random, and uselss, I won't waste anyone's time explaining what should be obvious anyway. I guess that explains why no one bothers to read the stuff I have posted in the past. So I'll just get down to answering your last questions.

From my perspective, you are a free spirit, a freethinker, and a "cloud" type, I think they say. These are traits not particularly valued by the very practical Chinese. You have written about this practical and calculating mindset yourself before. They value a workaholic type person and, let's face it. You are lazy. I don't consider this a bad thing. I agree with everything you wrote in your book and essays about escaping a workaholic life and culture. Life should be more than that. But this is China. A hard worker is respected. A free spirit will be thought strange.

Some person you dated for a week will not get this. Only over the long term will it become apoarent to her and her family. You are not a guy who goes into the office from 9 to 7 everyday and you will get harsh criticism for this. You don't deal with criticism very well, and Chinese are very blunt about it. As you refuse to change, and they will expect you to, it will only get worse.

So that's the end of my useless comments, which have no bearing on this discussion. You may take them for what they are....

Yohan it's funny how despite having a One-Child policy and Gender Imbalance, China still has a higher birth rate and marriage rate than Japan huh? Imagine that despite gender imbalances and it being largely illegal (with certain exceptions) to have more than 1 kid in China, China is still managing to pull off a higher marriage and birth RATE (note we're talking about rates here so please don't go harping on about China having a larger population because that is irrelevant to rates) than Japan.

What does this tell you? It tells you that the problems of modern society such as excessive consumerism, narcissism, materialism, excessive individualism and most relevant to this point, feminism and female entitlement, all problems that we Happier Abroaders leave developed countries to avoid, can have a far more pernicious effect on marriage rates and birth rates than even government intervention like the one-child policy can have. That shows you how deep the problems are for places like Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore.

So I suggest you stop worrying about us men, both foreigners and locals, in mainland China The stats show that countries such as Japan have a far bigger problem with marriage and birth rates. Plus Japan's levels of social isolation, and indifference towards sex and romance is reaching epidemic portions - as evidenced by its having the highest suicide rate in the world, more than 1/3 of young males being virgins, low marriage and birth rates, a high proportion of males and females expressing no interest in pursuing romance, increasing female entitlement levels, etc. The list goes on and on.

By the way, did you know that 75% of divorces in Japan are initiated by women? See( http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/6495009.stm). And this was in 2007, the figure may be even worse now.

Also, quality is more important than quantity. In the US there is no significant gender imbalance but many of the women are so low quality both looks-wise (due to epidemic levels of obesity) and personality wise (due to female entitlement and feminism) that the pool of eligible women is so low; so low that the scarcity of quality is far more severe than any gender imbalance in China can create. Quality is far more important than quantity. Plus, in China, most women that Winston and I get to know through various means are somehow single. Practically every woman Winston has cold approached here has been single. There just seems to be so many attractive available single women in China that whatever the gender stats say we're not feeling that imbalance or any sense of scarcity.

Thats a brilliant logical post by Ethan_sg.

Terrence, yes that may be true, but many chinese women dont mind if i dont have an office job as long as i have a steady income. My last chinese gf didnt mind. And neither does my new gf.

I highly doubt you lived in china terrence. No one who lives in china would compare american and chinese girls as you and marcoszeitola crazily did.

Also terrence why did you lie about having hot girls all over you when you have a chubby filipina who is considered below average in her own country? And why wont you meet anyone in China to validate your identity?

As a Korean American in China, I guess I take the middle road between Winston/Ian and Chanta/Marcos/Adventurer.

Winston, Chinese women do have their share of imperfections, in all honesty. Of course, to compare them to American women was a somewhat ridiculous statement by Adventurer, although it's definitely the case that some Chinese girls are starting to turn into your typical, emancipated 'strong female types' similar to women in the West.

I do agree that China is changing for the worse, but as I said in previous reports, it will be another decade before that happens. (So you better get here and find a girl before it becomes another Taiwan/Singapore, aka hellholes for men...)

As for my own personal experiences in China, I still think there are a fair number of good girls to date here. They are FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR more receptive in dating Asian men than Asian American girls, by far....Also, men do well here regardless of race. But they have been cases of men who have had little to no success in dating Chinese women--including some of my colleagues from work, friends and people on HA (for example, theProfessor and others), so it's not a guarantee that you will do well in China, unlike the Philippines, for instance.

So far, I've had mostly positive experiences in China, and I'm happy to be here.

Winston, as for your comments about Filipinos being 'inferior;' come on Winston, that's a terrible statement. You've insulted your former girlfriend and your son with that comment. I like Filipinos and consider that statement a little insulting. Nonetheless, you're entitled to your opinion, Winston, no matter how much I disagree with your post.

It is true, however, that many Asians do 'look down' on Filipinos for being whores, and for being stupid and lazy. I think some of the stereotypes are true, but I think that's more due to the fact that the country has a unique Western-oriented culture and the miserable poverty in the country forces women to become prostitutes in such large numbers.

Well terrence, regardless of what year it was, i know what i saw. And so do you. Its not consistent with your claim that lots of hot girls want you. And you know it.

Also how can you live in china for 5 years and generalize all chinese girls as the same? If you meet a lot of girls here you would realize like me and ethan_sg do that many chinese girls are not what you say. Some are sweet and not hung on money, especially if they truly love you.

Your observations are rash and too generalized and you seem to argue for the sake of arguing without a valid point. Also if you have been in China 5 years then why did you have a chubby filipina fiancee? And why do you refuse to meet anyone? I've asked you that many times yet you keep dodging these questions. Why? Why you refuse to answer simple questions? How come I can answer all questions put to me, but you can't? What's the problem?

Zboy, im not trying to insult filipinas. I like them too. But they are considered lower class in asia. Everyone acknowledges that. Even filipinos do. Try eating their food sometime and you will see what i mean and get a dose of reality. Theres a reason why you dont see filipino restaurants around you in every country.

No, you and others (who are these 'others'? Names please...) never told me that, but anyway as you mentioned above you can communicate in basic Chinese while in China. For dating some girls this is more than enough. Other Western foreigners are showing up with a Zero-knowledge about the Chinese language.

Your comment however is really surprising me. Can you really speak and write only English and are unable to communicate fluently in any other language?

First of all, not long time ago, I remember I saw a comment in your forum, written by yourself, about a Chinese gold-digger girl asking money from you and you copied/paste your chat conversation in Chinese with English translation.

I was always assuming you are an US-citizen who is Asian-American and a 100 percent descent of Taiwan. I never met any person from Taiwan, who despite living overseas could not at least SPEAK Chinese fluently (the older ones, who were forced to use English or Japanese etc. schools, but they cannot WRITE Chinese), however the younger ones all took as their second language when living abroad with their parents of course Chinese while still studying and are bi-lingual in both written and spoken English and Chinese.

There is also a young member here in this forum, I presume Canadian Chinese, Bao3, who is fluent in Chinese and English.

Anyway, whatever, as you are living now in China you will catch up Chinese quickly.

About dating in China for sure, your Taiwanese descent is a big advantage, Chinese women prefer overseas Chinese men to any other overseas people, no question about it. Good luck and enjoy.

Also most of china ive seen is pretty modern and developed with all the conveniences you need. And this includes the cities in inner china as well. So it is no third world.
If you really think there is NO third world in China, it is maybe so because you close your eyes while in the arms of a China girl

Seriously said, wide parts of China are underdeveloped and very primitive. It seems you see only the inner parts of some cities.
Take a car and drive out of these cities for about 30 to 60 minutes.

Check out labor conditions in factories, working conditions with mining companies or within cargo ports and also salaries and treatment of workers.

Even this is not really necessary, you need only stay in Beijing for a while during smog time and ask yourself from where this smog is coming from.
Also how come in Philippines you are always surrounded by people trying to scam you but i never seen anyone trying to scam me in China?
This is an interesting question, it is maybe because you are a Chinese yourself. Or at least locals presume you are one. They think you can understand what they are talking among themselves, they think you are familiar with all the tricks to cheat tourists.

Chinese are well-known for scamming of any kind including cyber crimes, forgery of documents, bribes etc. Nobody can deny that.
Most Chinese scammer look for larger business, to scam foreign companies, to steal data, intellectual property, to cheat with constructions etc.

Personally, my experience is exactly the opposite of what you say, much better in Philippines, where some poor guys are merely asking for small tips or buying them a bottle of beer, while in China locals try to cheat foreigners in a very professional way with almost everything, from restaurant bills, taxi fares, boat tours etc. Luckily, one of us was a bi-lingual Chinese-Japanese friend, she was regulating such scam frequently, switching over angrily and suddenly from calm Japanese into VERY loud Chinese.

I wrote many times in this forum that I speak basic Chinese. Of course I can only read and write English. Why would I be able to read or write Chinese? American schools do not teach Chinese, and I cannot memorize characters since I'm only good at thinking, not at memorizing like typical Chinese are.

When I chat with Chinese girls, I use WeChat translation tool to translate their messages into English.

No, most Asian Americans who were born in America do not speak fluent Chinese. I've known other ABC's and they also do not speak Chinese fluently. Most won't even bother speaking Chinese at all with their parents, but prefer to use English with them. The Chinese you see speaking Chinese in America came to the US when they were in their teens or adult years. Even if they come when they were 11 or 12, they can still speak good Chinese of course. But I came to the US when I was 3. Didn't you read my biography? Geez.

I never said that most Chinese girls I meet are interested in me romantically or in dating me. Most just want to be friends. But the whole process of talking to them, meeting them, connecting with them, etc. feels a lot more smooth and natural and friendly than in Taiwan or USA. That's for sure. And I do have some dating prospects including a very strong one in Shenzhen who likes me a lot. So I do have a dating life here, as well as some friendships with other girls. It's definitely a lot better than what I have in the USA or Taiwan, that's for sure. So for sure, my dating and social life is better in China.

Therefore, why did you Yohan and Terrence and MarcosZeitola compare Chinese girls to American girls? That was totally and utterly FALSE and WRONG.

You keep bringing this up, so let me clearify: you yourself made a comment about how Chinese women being picky, having high standards and being "complicated" was somehow a sign of their supposed "racial superiority" over Filipinas. I felt this was a ridiculous standard because it sounds like one of the things you and others on this forum have blamed American women for on this forum. Complicated being code-word for "drama queen". Lisa was indeed complicated... as in; she cheated on you with an Indian guy, she had a bipolar disorder and she was constantly insulting you and your intelligence. This sounds to me like an experience that could very easily be repeated with, say, an American girl?

If a country gets increasingly more and more Westernized, and its population richer, globalization will inevitably take its toll on both the male and female population. They will become spoiled and more materialistic. You are looking for love and a soulmate in a country where your bank account means a lot more to most girls then how you are a "freethinker". I was pointing out the inconsistencies I saw in your comments... and how clearly you are biased towards Chinese women due to your own roots.

Another thing I am curious about is your relationship status with Dianne? Did you yet formally break up with her, or did you just have not one but TWO(!) relationships while still holding on to your "inferior Filipina" as a back-up?

First of all children learn their native language from their parents and other relatives next to them.
Does nobody of your family members speak to you in Chinese?

In schools at least in Europe, it is possible, often even obligatory to study a foreign language, in my case in High School, as native German speaker in Europe, it was English obligatory when 10 y/o, and another additional language of my choice when 12 y/o, in my case Latin/French, later on also Japanese.

American schools here in Japan also follow this way of studies, foreign languages at least 1, later on 2 or 3 are a must, otherwise how can you work as a foreigner in Japan or elsewhere in Asia?

And even if you stay in Europe, how can you deal with other Europeans for business and tourism without speaking foreign languages?

As a child of Chinese descent in Europe, you will choose Chinese as optional language, as a Japanese of course Japanese if you live in Europe with your parents. This makes these children almost bi-lingual after university. It gives these Asian-Europeans strong advantages when applying for jobs related with Asia.

Unlike Japanese, Chinese and Indians are known to me to speak perfectly their own native language and English and often other languages too.

It seems, foreign language studies are rather neglected in the USA which is very regrettable.

Good to know you are now in China and I am sure your basic Chinese knowledge will strongly improve, maybe also you might consider to learn how to write, which is very important as spoken Chinese only makes you an illiterate.
Therefore, why did you Yohan and Terrence and MarcosZeitola compare Chinese girls to American girls? That was totally and utterly FALSE and WRONG.
Show me this thread where I wrote a comment like this!
Did you not read my comments in this thread? Or my comments in other threads?

I never compare Chinese (or other women, Thai, Japanese, Malay, Cambodian....) with American women, as I consider US-girls as the deepest point of the scale anyway. Nothing below anymore, any foreign woman might be better.

I said several times in my comments, it is better NOT to compare Chinese women with US-women, but to compare them with other Asian women.

In your posting you compared Chinese women with Filipinas, but I cannot see any valid argument why Chinese women should be 'superior' to Filipinas (or any other Asian women).

As a fact, a lot of low level jobs in Japan are done by Chinese men and women from mainland China, legal and illegal. Almost every cleaning job in a restaurant is done by a Chinese, filling up shelves in convenience stores, factory work etc. are done by Chinese, the cheapest 'girls of the night' out in the streets near our railway station in Southern Tokyo are all mainland-Chinese.

Theft, pickpocketing, burglary, forgery etc. - about 50 percent of all foreigners arrested in Japan for crimes are mainland-Chinese.

If you really think a mainland-Chinese is 'superior' to other Asians, for sure in Japan this is not the case.

You're not employing the slightest bit of common sense Winston. So I challenge you. Show me where I said that. Quotes or it didn't happen. Show me a link to a thread.

I think I know what thread you are talking about. In that thread YOU said:
Winston wrote: How did you get the strippers to go out with you? It seems that everyone wants you Terrence. Girls seem to fall into your lap everywhere. lol
To which I replied:
The_Adventurer wrote: Not even close, and they weren't falling into my lap, they were falling into my CAR. My experiences in the US were like many on here until I bought an expensive car and grew out my hair into dreads, then everything suddenly changed like magic. Outside the US, with the exception of the Phils, I simply had one decent girlfriend in each country I lived.

(BTW I didn't buy that car to pick up women. I bought it because I learned the hard way that driving up to a studio in a Geo Metro to pitch a show would get you laughed out of the lot whereas driving up in a cool car would get you taken seriously. That, however, is another story. I will write a thread about it later in the Love, Dating Relationships etc. forum)
And in this thread we were talking about AMERICAN STRIPPERS. The reason they went with me was obviously MONEY.

Do you see the word hot anywhere? Any mention of tons of girls wanting me? Notice what was IN BOLD.

BTW when was I EVER invited to a meetup?
