My 2 cents... there are too many "experts" doing nothing but ragging on these forums. At least offline I can better filter associations. Let's leave feminism aside. You post what you consider to be positive news on a forum and only one person has the social skills to respond appropriately. That's a pretty intense thought.
I hate to tell you the truth and sound negative in the process but here it is. Many people (maybe most people) do not want you to be happy. This is not just the case on HA or just within Western feminist society. It's pretty much universal.

I spent most of my life scratching by in a lower middle class living. Like most Americans we needed 2 incomes to get by and have a little bit extra. Post divorce, at the youthful age of 54, I finally got a good job with many of the associated perks. Tripled my income. You think everyone was happy for me? Nope. OK, my ex was happy - she asked for 4x the child support :)

I began to travel more. A few friends and family members were happy for me; just as many were jealous or wondered why I would waste my money on such foolishness.

I began traveling to the Philippines, met girls and eventually married one of them. Think everyone was jumping up and down for joy at the happiness I had finally obtained at the age of 60? Um, not quite lol. I got some looks and a few remarks. Even here on HA.

But here's the thing. You're never going to be happy based on what other people think of you. Choose your own path, explain it to people but expect nothing back. A few will root for you, many will not. Stick to those who root for you.

And BTW, I'm rooting for you. I hope you two have a great relationship!

This is why I f***s with Dave. He's right. The more positive and successful you become, the lonelier you'll be. It's been proven on HA, other forums, and in real life. It's easy to be negative. It's comfortable and doesn't demand as much effort. Positivity, while requiring the most effort to obtain, is pretty simple and easy to cultivate, and well worth the struggle. It's its own reward, PLUS whatever benefits come your way due to a change in the energy you expel. I, for one, am happy a sixty year old fellow can find love. Of course, that's "creepy" and "nasty" in the west (even if women do the same; cougarlife.com, anyone?). But he ain't in the west. So the west can go die as far as that is concerned. Just like Dave said, do for self. Don't do for self for others. We're all going to take a dirt nap eventually. Don't get caught up in the delusions of others. It's their deal, not yours. You get this one life so MAKE IT COUNT, NIGGAHS!

This is probably the most legit concern this thread raises. A very dear friend of mine (European man) is in a committed relationship with an American girl. She's Latin, sweetest thing, and they are so happy together. She's been broody for ages, wants a family deperately. So does he. I am afraid to think about their future offspring sometimes, I fear they may be just as vapid as their Los Angeles surroundings.

My own brother, also a very family-oriented person, dreams of "making it big in America". After he finishes his university studies he intends to to America. He, too, has expressed the desire to marry and have a family. He, too, will live in the same toxic culture.
This is a great point and counter to what most Westerners (even expats) think. I know tons of expats in the Philippines who moved back to the US or are intending to move back because they have kids that they want to educate in the West. While I will acknowledge that the US educational system is on average better than the Philippines, I have to wonder whether that means the kids are happier. All indications are that they are not.

So yes, you can get a better education in the West and make more money, but I think that most of us are living proof that that doesn't make us happier - on the contrary. As MZ said - the environment's toxic.

My 2 teens (1 in college, 1 in HS) are reasonably normal Americans. I love them but I can't help but wonder whether they are particularly happy. My wife watches them sometimes in astonishment at their angst and attitude which is contrary to the way she grew up. So, if we ever have a child we will raise him/her in the Philippines. Yes the educational and economic opportunities will be less but from what I have observed the happiness will be greater.

Ppl, we're in the 21st century, since when did being American educated, mean living in the US?

Here are the online portals to Penn State, Univ of Illinois, and Univ of Maryland online.

http://www.worldcampus.psu.edu

http://www.online.uillinois.edu

http://www.umuc.edu

And it even appears that Univ of Illinois's Urbana-Champaign campus is offering engineering masters programs online. Those are among the very best depts in the country for those areas.
Many years ago, the Best Picture of 1999, "American Beauty", telegraphed the message of Happier Abroad to the world.

Beware of long term engagements with AWs, you may find yourself in a coffin.

AB discussion thread

BTW, despite settling down with an AW, myself, the warning is still in effect.

Thanks for the positive remarks. And I think you can follow the logic that if I cared what people thought I wouldn't jump on a plane to Colombia.

My past comments in this thread were basically just noting that several members here are showcasing poor social skills which impacts their relationships with people of all genders.

I knew Donald liked to tweet... I guess I'll settle for two out of three. I'll take the money and the hotties, and I'll let you act like a goon. Have fun.

On the money thing, $100,000 before tax translates to around $67,000 after tax in California or New York. This is around 430,000 RMB or around 35,000 RMB a month. Pretty good and substantially more than what I'm getting now but not exactly awe inspiring and not even close to what is considered rich. This is without taking living costs into account.

If someone needs to be making an enormous amount of money just to get a quality woman then it's only because they're lacking in other, more important areas

You should ask Trump how marriage in America went for him.

When you define yourself as a resource, women will be very happy to oblige you.

And daddygov will be very happy to oblige them.

Keep spreading those cheeks and see what it gets you.

Gay stuff? The last thing I would be telling another man to do is to spread anything.
