No, mixed race doesn't mean mental illness. Being unable to form an identity as a child does though. It's a problem that not only mixed race kids suffer, but mixed kids are particularly susceptible. A lot of hapas complain that there are a lot more White male and Asian female relationships than the other way around. So if they are mixed kids themselves, then why are they against white male/asian female couples having offsprings that are mixed kids too? Do they want their own kind to go extinct? lol. Wouldn't it benefit them to have more of them so they can have more of a group identity?

In Hawaii, Hapa is a pretty bit part of the population, and you'll see Asian looking guys with a little bit whiter looking girls. I think everyone is a minority there, but 'Hapa' may be the biggest minority, especially if you count Polynesian mixes as Hapa. I'm not sure if they do that.

As a fact, to be half/half is often an advantage, at least here in Japan as 50/50 people often are bi-lingual and know about both countries, holding nationality/resident status/working permit for both countries. There are plenty of lucrative jobs for them in international organizations, import/export trade, interpreters, fairs and exhibitions, international hotels etc...

Also in our office there is half/half staff, also Japanese women married with European men, European women married with Japanese men and there are absolutely no complaints or disputes among us all.

In my family there is only 1 white (=me), Japanese wife, 2 half/half daughters, 1 Japanese son-in-law, and 1 Asian American son-in-law.

Most people like their own kind. You'll find this wherever you go. In most Asian countries, the majority of females prefer to date Asian men. The only reason that white guys can do well is because they are a novelty or rarity in Asia. Suppose that only 1% of females in China like white guys- that's still millions of women who like white guys and many more than all the white guys in the country. So a white guy who goes to China will benefit from a favorable ratio in his dating life. I have a hard time believing that Asians are less racist. In Korea, white guys are often stereotyped as perverts, losers, predators, etc. who can't find jobs in their home country. There is a significant amount of racism directed at interracial couples. I know a guy living in Seoul who says that his Korean wife sometimes gets called a whore when they are out in public together (and I thought Seoul was one of the better places for foreigners in Korea). I think this is just Winston opinion regarding if Asian men and white women are not compatible. It's like white men with black women are not too common but it does happen just like Asian men with white women does. I think sometimes this site just take extreme position.

Hapas or mixed Asians have issues like everyone else. I met a number of hapas..the mothers were sometimes working bar girls married to former GI's or sometimes expats. From my experience many hapas have issues if they grew up in this type of family.

Those Reddit guys should realize that HA has many non-monger Asian members on the forum, such as me, EthanSg, Falcon, CerealKiller, Baoning, Chanta, and others. I used to be one of those 'complainer' types, too, but once you move to Asia, you feel a lot happier and could give a crap about White mongers, or Black vs. White racism, or any of the other b.s. that happens in the Anglosphere. It's a nice feeling to be away from all the hate.
