That's what happens...A secular monarchy in then Persia was overthrown and replaced with an Islamic theocracy in the renamed Iran. No surprise.

You guys should look up pictures of Afghanistan in the 50s and 60s. You would be surprised at how a country can experience a total transformation over the course of only a few decades.
