Russell Gmirkin, a biblical scholar and lecturer living in Portland, OR, has written extensively on the biblical use of Greek sources from the Great Library of Alexandria.

Once again proving that Bible scholars don't believe the Bible. They believe in the wisdom of men, especially professors (professing themselves wise they became fools) and also ancient Greek homosexuals who preferred little boys over women. This is where most people take their Christian doctrine.

These Biblical scholars make about as much sense as Newtonian Physicists who don't believe in the laws of thermodynamics. What kind of physicist are you if you don't even believe in the fundamentals?

This man truly believes that the Greek philosophers created both religion and God. Just goes to show, you can read the Bible daily and still be confused. An unsaved man cannot understand the Bible and will almost always come to the most nonsensical conclusions.

The Old Testament is Not derived from Plato. The OT was in writing 1500 years ago, and probably longer ago at the time of (Moses). Gnostics are a formation of Plato and the OT, however. Gnosticism is pure platonism mixed with the God concept, actually. It is impossible what you say, because Plato talked about the forms, not even 1,000 BC, it is a different theosophy/philosophy than Judeo teachings.

Jews became Hellenized about 333 BC and adopted Hellenic culture.
The writings of the OT are very old, before the Jews grafted and took them to form their Bible, they existed in Egypt, Sumeria, Mesopotamia, etc. These go back probably thousands upon thousands of years - at least 10,000 and probably more. They are very old and universal teachings.

The only real similarity I see between Plato and the Jews is that they both believed in a perfect Creation, of sorts, that the world had fallen and there existed a perfect form. This is probably why the Jews took so easily to Hellenization, they thought alike. Plato thought there were forms...we could see a ball existed in the real world, but the ball is not perfect - there must be some perfect form of "Ball" that existed or could exist. Judaism had the fall of creation.
Interestingly, both flirt with gnosis or knowledge. The Jews in the garden of Eden and the tree. The Greeks were all about knowing as much as you could.


Interestingly, buddha means the Greek gnosis - to flower,bud, to know. That is why Manichean gnosticism flourished in Syria and the east, it is basically Buddhism wrapped up in Judeo Christian wrappings, very interesting.
