Been on Cherry Blossoms for a while, and having fairly good success, or so I think. I've met one who is 41, kids grown, and has just graduated from nursing school. She's been
pretty warm and friendly and I'm planning on going to the Philippines early next year to meet her and a couple of others.
But then I also just met a 35 year old chick on CB, also from the Cebu area, who failed nursing and is taking another stab at it after 14-odd years. She is incredibly warm and
sweet. Right off the bat she told me that I'm very good-looking (Western women wouldn't ever tell me this), and that she doesn't mind if I don't want kids - she would be happy
being with me for the rest of her life even without having children. We were chatting on webcam last night and I couldn't believe how loving and sweet she is.
It's nice to get this kind of attention, and for a change I feel better about myself, but part of me is saying it's too good to be true. Like the other woman I've been chatting
with, she wants to get married like, yesterday. I realize that poverty and poor living conditions drive many Filipinas to behave like this - to a certain extent.
Even so, I wonder... is what I'm experiencing real, or just an illusion?? And if it is real, it seems like a tragedy of monolithic proportions to me that I can't get even a fraction of that kind of attention
from women here at home.

I've posted elsewhere about my cherry blossoms experience so you might want to do a search. The answer to your question is complicated. Yes the Filipina women are sweet and complimentary. They will call yu handsome or guapo. They are very attentive and will quickly want to meet you and have a relationship.
OTOH you have to be careful and find the right one. There are many who are scammers and more who are desperate and want a guy. This must be especially true in the age group you are describing. Beyond 30 they are unlikely to marry in the Philippines. As a westerner you are a catch but I chatted ith many many girls before figuring out who was who. So don't be to quick about the two you are chatting with. Chat with others and get the lay of the land so to speak.
Good luck. BTW, I am currently vacationing in Boracy with my gf who I met on CB, so it does work, but I had to go through many girls before I found a great one.

Its perfectly normal for PI. Filipinas are the best women I've ever met. The strangest thing for me is just how much they will lust after you, I'm serious. You won't be able to keep up with them in bedroom, they'll literally screw the shit of you.

i was in the same situation when I was in PH and TH, always wondered how can this be true and if it is why I dont get fraction of attention from women back at home. Im talking abt regular ones.
In PH when you walk down the street or mall you can get many girls giving you smile, back home I dont get 2 smiles in a year..
it just drives you insane when you think abt it, shdnt be that much gap, if i get 10% attention in here what im getting in PH id be happy man and wouldnt be complaing abt dating scene
Women here have highest expectations they can have, compromize and settling is not their vocabulary..thats why this society feels fragmented, women have so much sexual power that is beyond comprehension.
This is good one, who would have thought that poverty can have good sides,

I lived in Davao for 4 months back in 2008 and I agree with much of what Davewe wrote. Two things to understand:
1) Most filipinos make very little money. It's common for college graduates to work at the shopping mall and earn $100-200 a month. (and they work 6 days a week, 8 hours a day for this money). The girl I dated had a masters degree and was working for an American company. She was making something like $500-600 a month, which was a small fortune in the philippines.
2) Family is VERY important to filipinos and they will do whatever it takes to support their family. Oldest daughters often have the responsibility for providing financially for younger siblings. This is why many foreigners advice to stay away from dating oldest daughters.
#1 and #2 is the reason why there are so many "scammers" in the philippines. I put scammers in quotes because these women don't really see themselves that way. They're just looking for a way to provide for their family and if a foreigner is gullible enough to give them money, then why not. It's also the reason why you meet SO many nursing students. Everyone's looking for a way out of the philippines and nursing is seen as a potential ticket to living in a foreign country and making a good salary (much of which they can send back to their family). And it's not just the women...there are tons of men studying nursing. Unlike in the US, there's no shame for a male in the philippines to be studying nursing.

One other thing I encountered....many fathers stop working around age 50 or so. It may not be a choice....there's probably not much of a job market for a 50 year old filipino. I had dates with girls whose fathers hadn't worked in 5 or 10 years, even though they were still quite young by western standards. Again, this puts pressure on the next generation to make money to provide for the family.

And the youngest daughter takes responsibility for aging parents. Odds are with the birthrate that there will not be only one girl, but when it does happen you have the classic sandwich

Yeah, many Asian women are really lovely. Just don't marry the first one you chat to. 3 years after I first started looking, I'm still a long way from marriage to an Asian woman.
You don't say how old you are, but it's not hard to find a Philippines bride who is 25+ years your junior.

Exepedition Sailor: Think of it from the Filipinas' perspective. For example, a Filipina that is past 35 years old, with kids, and making maybe $300 a month. Why would any man be interested in dating (or marrying) them that is on another continent? The point is...they too find it hard to believe that you are real.
The reason is that you are trying to escape the tyranny of American women, that, on the whole are unsuitable. They are so unsuitable that you are looking elsewhere. The majority of American women are self-entitled, fat, high school educated, and have "careers" that have gone nowhere...and have a "what have you done for me lately" attitude. Why jump through hoops for all that bullshit? I know from reading some of your other posts that you are fed up with that!
xiongmao is right though, don't trade in all your chips for the first one you come across. It's a buyer's market, and you're buying. Get what you want, and don't settle!
