I know its beyond stupid, won't be putting my kids in school in America, no chance of that happening. Finland has some of the best public schools in the world.

Can you explain this further? What's so good about Finland's school system? In the distant future I want kids too but I'm not sure where I would want to raise them.

f**k that....basically its the transfer of ownership/custody of your children to the state. say goodbye to normal adults once the govt start indoctrinatating your young kids for 12+ years.
time to leave the US

i had given up on the idea of government education. This sounds like it would be okay.

They don't give a f**k about those kids. If they were learning anything they wouldn't waste time on this nonsense. They don't like to compete for attention especially not with haircuts.

Can't watch Main Stream Channels for news, you won't get any other information about how bad/corrupt our Public Schools are and only how getting money (tax payer money) is being given to citizens so they can put their children in private schools = Not the solution.
Norway has a similar competition driven Education system and STILL does better than US...
Scandinavia as a whole has less time in school, shorter school year and better outcomes. You'll never heard this on American Mainstream Media because they want to continue to push the myth at America is Number #1 (in Military Spending) and that even if other countries do it better its because of "Socialism" and we wouldn't accept that.
Actually Gen Y has a much more favorably view of Socialism anyway. Also in blind testing when comparing tax systems, Sweden always gets picked over America's tax system...
Yet people here are concerned about Feminism.... Tisk, Tisk.
I'm worried about the forever night in the winter and all the snow, if I can tolerate it. Finding an attractive girl isn't an issue.

But Finish Schools are Government controlled. The problem is MONEY in our system it corrupts absolutely... LAUD is one of the richest districts in the nation, some how we can't find enough money to shrink class size or anything else useful.
As I said in the Cox post, America needs to collapse its to far gone but making the school private will limit access = Not Good.

kids get suspended for hugging, but can get away with bullying; great.
3 teachers to one classroom in Finland that's great ... in south america & the caribbean it's over crowded, we had 1 teacher to 30+ kids.

Goes without saying that . . .
a) The Finnish educational system's model puts the West's version to shame.
b) If I were going to have kids, they would NOT be attending school in -any- Western nation-state -- America especially.
Stories? Perhaps.

So if I wanted to raise a child I would have to do it in either South Korea, Finland, or China. Education is essential so I've been researching which countries have the best education system and the aforementioned 3 are it.
Finland sounds interesting. How's the housing market over there?
