wonder if it'll be the same when I do retire in 30 yrs from now ... I was hoping to live in Venezuela, Cayman Islands or Mauritius if I could afford to... with time ones plans & desires change as well.

The article is about renting for less than $500/mo, not living on $500/mo.

If you're interested in looking for retirement places, check with AARP publications.

I've done the math. I think you need at least $1000 a month to live in an Asian country.
I was Happier Abroad for a while but Covid killed that off.

The whole site is interesting, thanks.

I am always looking for a place to learn about the world that is not as negative as PrisonPlanet or as political as RT. Places that have useful news that includes opportunities not just gripes and crimes.
