Am I asking too much?

Post by zacb »

I have been thinking about what I want out of a women. Intelligent, kind, personally responsible, creative, someone who pushes me, etc. . But I have been trying to get an exact mental picture in my mind, the only people I can think of are guys that I admire (for their achievements, with the exception of Joan of Arc). I guess my perfect date would be kind of along the lines of Peter Thiel/Richard Branson/Steve Jobs type personality, not per se every mannerisms, but I guess the overall thinking outside the box. Am I asking too much for dates to be like that? Is our whole society nothing but debt slaves? Are these mostly masculine traits? Idk, I am not trying to be rude, but I thought that having something in common was important?

Sounds like a Western Europe babe, maybe?

HA is the wrong place to ask about this though.

i suggest you drop the male role models, and look through film and tv for the gals you want by your side. Then post this description (the film and tv characters, with name of actress) on a dating or social site and invite girls to hook you up. Something like this:

My Favorite Women and What I Like About Them:
Scarlett Johanssen in "Lost In Translation" -- I like how thoughtful she was.
Uma Thurman in "Kill Bill" -- I like how determined she was.

Your headline can be, "Can You Kick Ass?" or something like that effectively requests whatever the desired characteristic is.

Ask for what you want, but remember that chicks think in pictures, not concepts, so give them examples.

Good luck.

China is full of brainy women. I dated a high powered business woman from Beijing's elite. Lol. She was fun. There's loads of women like her on Chinese Love Links or China Love Match. Be careful what you wish for though - these women are intimidating.

I'm not sure I like this kind of woman though. They're good to date, but I prefer housewife types for marriage.
I was Happier Abroad for a while but Covid killed that off.

Interesting topic. Women too high up in the career ladder are indeed intimidating, but only for the traditional Asian man who sticks to the Confucianist idea that the woman should always be a couple of notches below the man, and family/kids oriented. It's the same in Japan. I once read an article about a British specialised dating agency (don't remember the name) making a fortune introducing high-power Japanese women snubbed or past their sell-by-date to British professionals. Didn't see photos but the article was mentioning most of them being at least average looking and certainly intelligent and sophisticated, as they were all academics, doctors, lawyers, businesswomen etc.

Of course those women might be less qualified as the traditional "wife material", yet isn't having a career woman as a wife about balancing relationship/family and professional life anyway, regardless whether wife is French, Dutch or Chinese?

If you think that any women on planet earth is "intimidating", then believe me, trust me on this, you are not a man. You are what's called a sissy boy, somehow someway the world has taken what it is to be a man away from you. Now women are better than you are, this is for certain.

I could not fathom being "intimidated" by a person with a slit between their legs that has to squat to pee and doesn't have the brainpower to understand anything whatsoever in this life, except for that which they are told....

Which goes to show, that for many so called men in this world, women indeed are better than you are, for you are sissy boys, nothing more.

The "power" to do what? Be a puppet corporate lackey. Perhaps she 'intimidates' YOU, however no woman of the sort would upset me.
Why would you want such trash? Your comment contains the answer to the question. "There's loads of women like her on Chinese Love Links or China Love Match"

...hmmmm I wonder why? [/quote]

Having a smart woman can be an help you in life but if she too smart..watch out. It's best to have somewhere in the middle. Personal I prefer a woman who knows her place.

You can date a career women all you want but NEVER marry a career women.
You're where you're at in life because of your thoughts.

What you guys call "career women" are really chicks who are trainee rich bitches. They either embraced western culture(BAD) or they're planning conquest(no chance with her, westerner!).

Chillax mate, not everybody here thinks women in general are intimidating. It just so happen that societal stuctures where women were not expected but "made" to occupy pre-defined roles, always below the man, are just not ready for the shift. Meeting a woman surgeon or a woman millionaire is, in China or Japan at least, meeting somebody who has far more control over her own life than the average Chinese or Japanese man would desire. And would be harder to convince to relinquish part of that power for the sake of traditional marriage roles.

Even my wife said that, when in Colombia, men would snub the fact she has 2 engineering degrees and career ambitions and concentrate on the best way to grope her assets. :)

I guess I have a problem with what a relationship should look like. Not to be rude, but sometimes, with a few exceptions, the only reason to have a women in your life is to ****. I hate to sound crude, but to me there are very few women that interest me outside of that. Call me shallow, but I like to expand my life, not stay in the status quo just so I can get some action.

Zacb, I believe you are right most of the time. I was thinking about being with a nice woman but most of the time having someone being romantically involved with is almost non-existant. Usually when I see women, they are unable to give much thought to a deep conversation and a really scatterplot. My mother although smart usually does not have interest like my dad.

Yes, those few exceptions are the reasons why I have some hope for women. Other than that, I see not incentive to have a relationship with a women other than casual sex.
