I think I would rather just meet someone naturally and spend some time together rather than just sign up for a "romance tour"/dating service.

Anything can work, but it's different for everyone. There is no harm in trying a dating site. A romance tour is expensive and only for those who can afford it though. But there are many free dating sites where you can write a few women first before you go. It doesn't hurt and who knows who you could meet. Why not take advantage of the opportunity? You never know who you could meet. Going there and meeting women is great, but the internet gives you connections that you otherwise would never have. A wise person does both and maximizes both opportunities and venues. Why limit yourself to only one or the other?

A couple of websites I've seen recently suggest that most of the women to be found online are scammers, and that you're better off just going to your chosen country and meeting women by chance. One of the websites recommended tours or at least going with a back-up or escort because in some countries, including the Philippines, single men on their own are sometimes targeted by criminals.
