Momopi, my laptop got the blue screen and restarted!
Momopi,
Damn! Now it happened to my laptop. While it was playing music, it suddenly went into the dreaded blue screen and then restarted. During the blue screen, it said something about a "memory dump". What does that mean exactly? How do you fix a "memory dump" problem or prevent it from happening?
Anyway, when Vista restarted, it showed a message listing some files that might help indentify the source of the problem. Here is what it listed. Does it tell you anything about what happened?
Quote:
Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\Mini112309-01.dmp
C:\Users\Winston Wu\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-97093-0.sysdata.xml
C:\Users\Winston Wu\AppData\Local\Temp\WER5D25.tmp.version.txt

Blue screen of death and reboot occurs when there's a kernel fault that it cannot recover from. The cause could be software or hardware. If it happened once and doesn't do it again for months, I wouldn't worry about it.
