But to go beyond the zona frontera (within a 20 km distance from the U.S. border), you need to fill out a tourist card; and if your stay is more than 7 days, you have to pay a fee of 390 Mexican pesos (around $20 USD). Mexico's immigration laws are still much more lax compared to those of the U.S. to this day.
Very simply, Mexico needs the money and they know they will lose a bunch of it if it is difficult for Americans to enter mexico.

America is NOT a rich country. It's one of the poorest countries. But thank Hollywood and the US Government's public relations propaganda campaign portraying the nation as rich and everyone as having loads of money.

And with earlier comments, I'm not paying for my trip in cash or savings which are at $0. I'm putting it all on credit card which I already started doing. For the first time in my life I already have a balance I can't repay and haven't been able to repay for more than six months. Just to finance something else I applied for another 0% APR CC to avoid interest charges. So I'm playing a game of "Russian Roulette" with my finances so either I'll be able to repay my debts or I'll finally default or go bankrupt in America.

I already told my parents I don't care what happens at this point. But I know for certain I'll not pay my auto insurance and my state excise tax on car ownership. WHY? Because I'm tired of doing nothing and not going anywhere. So I'll go see some nice places and not pay the government or corporations. If whatever results destroys my credit score, that's just the price that had to be paid to finally do something fun. My parents forced me to get that car AND I don't have the money to pay for the expenses anywhere. The total that would be due in the loan, the annual taxes, and the insurance would be $1,200 and I couldn't come up with that in three months or even four months if I wanted to. I'm barely keeping things going with my auto loan and using my credit cards, repaying what I can trying not to charge much else.

But this year I will be defaulting but NOT going bankrupt because the debts I'll be defaulting on are government debts. They stick around forever until repaid. Oh well. I'm not getting a good job anytime soon and if they really wanted people in America to pay bills, they would give them $50,000 per year jobs instead of bailing out Wall Street and billionaire Trump talking a good talk BUT NOT walking the walk. Proud to have NOT Voted in the 2016 Elections just like I didn't vote in 2014 and will never vote in an American sham election. Lesser of two evils. Both Donald and Hillary surrounded by Jews. Everywhere you look in America, Jew after Jew after Jew. But when it comes to the poor its everyone BUT a Jew. America gives every Israeli a better life at the expense of Americans.

So f**k it. Either my parents can pay my auto tax and my car insurance company lowers my bill to a reasonable amount relative to the low amount of miles I drive OR everyone collapses, and I'll give my parents, the government, and the insurance company the middle finger saying NOW I won't ever get an apartment and my credit score will make it so I never get a job in America.

But I am finally doing something for myself this year and that's going on a vacation 99% financed by credit card. I'll repay the auto loan and credit card first. Everything else will just be defaulted and if I need to pay doctors, I'll bounce a check or two and let those be on collections also.

Sounds like an impending financial implosion just waiting to happen. If your parents don't care about you enough to rescue you if you need to come back to the states, you will be in a very deep hole. (And I am not talking about FICO.)

Also you don't know Russian, and I don't know if they will allow you to work without credentials.

Also, you're still inexperienced with women. So you might fall prey to a predatory wolf in sheep's clothing.

Actually I did the same thing you're thinking of doing back in the early 2000s when I skipped country and went to stay with two sisters in Europe. The exact same thing actually.

Financial implosion is the highest probability BUT I need to go this year and see it for myself. I promised myself this year no matter what the cost (and by cost I don't mean in dollars). I also don't understand why one of my credit card companies which hasn't raised my balance finally raised my balance probably last month after I started keeping a $1,000+ balance on that card (and that's not the only card with a $1,000 balance). So my debt skyrockets and they raise my credit limit more than 100% LOL

But I hopefully will have everything straightened out by June 1. There's a 90% chance I could get all my credit card balances back to zero by June 1 BUT then finance everything else on my 0% APR Credit Card. That's exactly why I got the new 0% APR Credit Card. To buy a new laptop after my mom ruined my old one and to finance my vacation.

I can't cancel because I won't turn back. All these years my parents dragged me down and that car was one of thing I didn't want but they forced me to buy it under duress. Why do you think I became suicidal? I was on a mindless temp job an actual trained monkey (the actual small monkeys), going nowhere, and then my parents force me to get the car under duress.

But this year it's about me. I'm done trying to keep everything perfect and stick to a careful plans trying to keep everything in check, everything paid, and balancing everything. I never had a life, just an existence like a f***ing rock on the ground. But I'm going to see what life is like and already got the tickets.

On the off chance after my two or three week vacation if I don't financially implode after several months, then I'll be at $0. I could always get another 0% APR Credit Card and transfer the balance, repeating the process until it's completely repaid.

I assume I could repay $200-$400 per month. I already budgeted $4,000 for my vacation. The tickets were $1,000 which was a great deal. The visa is still in progress because I need to get photos and go to the embassy. But I still have no idea how to come up with a "Letter of Invitation" I need to bring with me. Anyone have advice on how I can get that letter? Many users on this forum visited Russia. How did you get your Letter of Invitation?
