The "F" word comes up as "f**k" instead of the actual word. Just noticed this change today (August 16th). What gives? We can be censored by PC in the real world with the rest of the misandrists and feminists - not here.

I find it terribly annoying to have to read asterisks (i.e. "f**k this s**t") rather than just the actual text. What gives and why the sudden change? Aren't green words like "free speech" and "the un-PC" kinda the motto of why this site was ever constructed? I've seen freer speech on iVillage.

What I find ironic, is that the F word was the only word censored out of your last post jackal. Maybe Winston is trying out that hypocrite forum mod?

I remember Winston mentioning he wanted to clean up the site slightly, by removing the porn and such. IDK. I forgot why, but he wanted to provide greater access. I know at least for Barracuda filters they would not let me in when I tried to log in at this one hospital.

Yes it matters. These boards feel a bit PC with words like "f**k" and "shit" censored. Reading asterisks also feels a bit juvenile and takes away from the message we are reading. "Kinda liek talk1ng lyke dis, or typ1ng dis w@y."

It doesn't really matter to me, but I just find it surprising because you have always supported individual freedom of expression and lack of censorship so strongly.

There are standards. But sadly a few generations have gone by in which Americans no longer recognize that there are standards in any thing. Anything goes and few people now can speak without swearing each and every other word. There is no class among most americans and the lewdest most vile of topics are presented without shame. They believe this to be "freedom of speech", however despite this 'freedom' so many are unable to articulate their personal opinions and ideas. Filth is 'IN' and popular these days. Thus reality tv prevails. I am just amazed that these americans believe that they even deserve to take part in dating abroad. They fail to see how they themselves, despite their declarations of how bad american women are. They themselves promote the american ideology of ignorance and filth all over the world. Many Americans have no class and it is reflected in their daily interactions. Most americans believe it is their right to promote speech of behavior that is no good for anyone. Even at the cost of life, children and humanity itself. Please don't take away our ability to use profanity. Indeed, yet then many asks why feminists and others fail to take the date/marriage abroad movement seriously. The language and lewd topics themselves help to invalidate the movement. I think highly of what Winston is doing to help bring standards to this site. Allowing it to continue to function as a resource of positive information for those who wish to date abroad. As opposed to allowing HA to spiral into just another typical conspiracy theory/porn/racist/mangina/ignorant rant site. I do not want to be associated with a porn site and I will leave if the topics here continue to lean towards that type of filth.

I've censored a list of adult content type words to reduce the risk of being penalized by Google or family safe filters. Are those words really worth it?

Generally I have observed that gratuitous profanity and obscenity indicates someone with a limited vocabulary.
Being a potty mouth does not indicate you are more of a man, it indicates you don't have much class.
Are there no standards whatsoever? If Winston does not allow hard core pornography- bestiality and snuff films on his site, does that mean he somehow violating someone's innate right to unlimited freedom of expression? For some, I am sure it does.

This is not an unlimited public forum. Hasn't anyone heard of "terms of use"?
