Our baby is born! (with pictures)

(Typed on my laptop on January 9, 2008)
Today, on January 9, Dianne went into labor at around noon, but for some reason I didn’t find out about it until 6pm when I was out eating dinner. She still hasn’t explained why. But we did have a dispute the night before.
Anyhow, I must say that holding the baby in my arms for the first time was a very spiritual experience that left me in awe and wonder, as well as excitement. He looks just like I did when I was born (see my newborn pictures at http://www.happierabroad.com/Childhood_photos.htm). But of course, newborns usually look alike and only time will tell.
Dianne even told me that after all the monstrous pain she went through, when she saw the baby’s face for the first time, all that pain just went away.
I must say that although I am the same person as before the baby was born, having that baby around in our hospital room made me feel like I am constantly worrying about the baby and thinking about it, rather than about myself.
He weighs 7.4 lbs and we've decided to name him Angelo, for several reasons. First, Dianne's favorite actress is named Angel Locsin and if it were a girl, we were planning to name her Angel. Second, he is being named after his birthplace, Angeles City. And third, it's the name of a famous artist Michaelangelo.
