I'm tempted to chalk this up as him being a few grains short of a full bowl, but it provides an interesting contrast to Western men posting vids all depressed about not having a gf.

This guy had some mental issues. No sane person would kill themselves because his girlfriend wanted to shop.

Better options than killing himself:

1) Saying "No, you can't buy that" and being firm.
2) Breaking up with her.

While I won't judge or make snarky comments about his mental state -- 99% of the users here not being much better in the sanity department -- I will say that perhaps breaking up with her would've been less painful for him.

I remember reading this yesterday and thinking, damn, I could totally see this being a Monty Python skit.

Guy probably didn't have a spine. When a spineless man gets in a relationships with a pushy woman, they essentially end up like slaves. He couldn't take it anymore, and because he was lacking in the will department, the only way he could see to escape was ending it all. With any luck she'll die in poverty as a lonely biatch now.

Chinese man logic: If you are not happy with your girlfriend don't dump her. Kill yourself instead.
