Good Luggage?

I just saw a garment bag that rolls up & zips along the edges to make a duffel bag & I have no intention of spending $330-$530 on one. I also had no idea something like this existed.

What else is out there? I'd like affordable, but also things that are innovative & useful like the thing I mentioned above (which I'd really like at a cheaper price).

I've got a Condor Collossus, a North Face Heckler, and a Rapid Dominance messenger bag. All good pieces of gear & I found them all to be pretty much exactly what I needed in those types of bags- still want one of those garment/duffel bags, though.

Luggage is generally a rip off. My secret has been that every TJ Maxx has a luggage section that has high quality luggage selling for pennies on the dollar. Check them out....

I noticed that roll-up duffel garment bag, too.
Very nice, but no bargin, eh?

If you are traveling abroad, you can find shops devoted to luggage repair.
Here in Thailand, one such shop, with several branches, is "Mr. Bag Fix".
A shop like that will also custom make anything you want.
Just bring pictures or patterns.
Prices at 1/4 to 1/3 of retail in The West.
And your choice of materials.

Custom made anything -- not just luggage -- is common in "second tier" countries.
