I searched the forum but couldn't find any real topics on this. Serious question. The question is have you ever encountered true evil, psychopaths, sociopaths IN REAL LIFE. Not on the internet or someone you suspect. But an actual, real face-to-face encounter with an evil person, a psychopath, or a sociopath. If you have, then please write your story here.

There is a difference between psychopaths and sociopaths. I do not believe most sociopaths are evil. Psychopaths do have a higher tendency to be evil but again not all are even if they do things like that are wrong like cheat or divorce.

Psychopaths especially the evil ones hide it and appear charming and likable to most people. Maybe that is why most in US politics are psychopaths.

I was on a flight from Belgium to the U.S., upgraded to first class gratis, presumably because I was on crutches after hip surgery. The guy I was sitting next to was a Belgian chef who presented himself as a rake and roue. I wasn't being at all judgmental, rather just laughing a bit as he told his tales of debauchery with women, booze, drugs etc. Then he asked me if I'd ever wondered what it felt like to kill somebody. I said no, and that was the end of the conversation. I've often wondered if I was in the presence of a psychopath, and if such conversations are how they identify and recruit each other.

The terms psychopath ansd sociopath are considered obsolete now. They were both fused into the current term Anti-Social Personality disorder.

But yes, I have come across a few in my professional life and most were female.

But you don’t have to go far to get a sense of how they behave because we have 2 or 3 on this very forum. No names.....

Sure. I met Bill Gates one on one for about half an hour. I had lunch with Gavin Newsom and several other people. I did the rounds on Sand Hill Road in Silicon Valley to raise venture capital. And then I attended board meetings for that business with various people worth $100M+. Almost everyone at the top of society is a sociopath.

Gavin Newsom comes off as a soulless sociopath like Nancy Pelosi even relative to other career politicians! It shows America how smart Californian voters are.

Well, as this forum proves, you don't have to go to the top of society to find psychopaths. You can find them at the bottom of society too, and even in this very forum. And I am making names: @Contrarian Expatriate

"Psychopath" refers to people who have no group selectional conscience and see any transactions from the point of view of immediate personal gain. As well as murderers, these people include road hogs, deadbeats, disease spreaders etc. "Sociopath" refers to people who would be considered normal within their own subculture but considered evil within the wider society. So for example, Tony Soprano would be considered a sociopath but not a psychopath. I think this is a distinction worth keeping.

The professional field of psychology used to agree with me. In fact, I am only stating their previous position. If they have chosen to abandon their definition in order to be in line with pop-psychology, then that is sad.

Well, yeah. When I was young I had a female roommate who was good looking and could do almost anything she wanted to "legally" but she also wouldn't pay her bills and would outright steal money she was entrusted with, and was therefore a psychopath. She just didn't think the rules applied to her, and she was largely right, but didn't know when to stop. That is a typical psychopath.

Are you sure it wasn't because she was a young spoiled female from a Western feminist nation? Or maybe most young females from Western feminist nations are now psychopaths?
