BTW, if you are dumb enough to get married, it might actually be a good idea to defer to the wife over housing, even if she is otherwise good and subordinate. It is well known that not doing so tends to result in disaster.

Yeah, there is good reason to believe they often get away with murder, as this female in the story almost did.
