Hey everyone, this has been an issue for most of my adult life, but only seems to get worse with age. As the subject states, does anyone else like being a loner, even if the possibility of socializing is offered, you just...turn it down? More often than not. Winston and others constantly espouse the importance of social interaction, and makes good points, and I suppose we're hard wired for it, but meh.. I dunno, it's just something I dont...want? Why is this? Are some folks just wired differently from the majority?

i've convinced myself, or at least tried to, that i'm not a follower. I don't have social media with 1k 'friends' to feel content. I mean really, how does anyone have 1000 friends? No person can know 1000 people. But, I dunno...these past few months I can't help but shake this nagging feeling I'm missing out on a huge aspect of life. Any insights are greatly appreciated.

I used to go to West Edmonton Mall and eat Chinese food at the food court by myself. Those were the good old days. You should try it...

Edmonton is a little too far a journey to eat Chinese; for me anyway, but my question still remains. Why do so many of us, seemingly, shun our own, even to our detrement? It's very puzzling.

OK, so you want social interaction, but just don't have the 'skills' to acheive it? Are you awkward? Just don't know how to read people well? Unattractive? Depressed? All of the above?

I kinda struggle with all of the aforementioned issues myself, though not to a large extent. But the main issue is, I just don't want it, or something. Even if I could get it, I just, like, turn it down. It's weird.

I think a fairly large problem plaguing many, if not most of us, is the fact alot of 'socializing'is done online, and we've substituted virtual interaction for real interaction, and it's literally rewiring our minds in a detrimental way.
