I honestly don't give a damn what deluded people choose to believe so long as they don't get in my face and try to push those beliefs on me.
AND then make arguments based on absolute BS. Please try and listen to how stupid you sound before spouting off!

There will ALWAYS be religion, or some form of it. It's human nature.
Some people simply must have something to believe in to justify their
existence & the sorry lives they are forced to endure. The world is full of uneducated sheep.

BTW, I am more agnostic than atheist.

I do agree though, that Christianity has been denigrated an extraordinary amount in recent years, especially by atheists (hell, even Muslims tend not to be as critical unless they are Islamist). Ironically enough, many of these atheists prove themselves to be as annoying, patronising and smug as any Christian fundamentalist.

I think that the assaults on Christianity are due to cowardice (you bear no risk of getting murdered), to trendiness (as you point out) and also because it lacks the revolutionary bent that Islamism does (i.e - conquer the world). Remember that there are very few leftist revolutionary Christians.
The reason Christianity is attacked is not cause of cowardice. It's because the religion makes extreme unprovable claims that are ridiculous and don't make sense, and tries to convert people too. Christianity also has a history of attacking many things, including other religions. So it is receiving the backlash that it deserves.

Besides, it is weak and has no foundation to base its extreme doctrines on, so it is an easy target as well. Plus the Bible is full of contradictions, making it an easy target as well.
Don't pretend; all religions have make ridiculous unprovable claims throughout their history and Muslims tend to be much more vociferous about converting (or killing) non-believers nowadays than Christians are.

So why is Islam not as assailed as Christianity is? It is because people fear retribution, so they stick to attacking Christianity only because it is much safer. So basically, it is cowardice.

I also note how these atheists push their 'non-beliefs' onto the rest of us, too (there was one guy who made a big show of smoking the Bible and the Quran) - sort of like evangelicals giving you Bibles on the street, only less dignified. Quite a few also behave in a smug, patronising manner towards non-atheists, so they begin to resemble American Bible Belt fundies.

FWIW, I don't disdain people of different faiths or persuasions. I may not entirely agree with their beliefs, but I respect their right to practice them. I'm just noting how Christianity is disproportionately attacked nowadays.

As for your five points, I suspect that many Catholics may not agree on points four and even five. Many Catholics I've spoken too do not believe that non-believers go to hell; they simply pass away.

I also think that Methodism believes that God and Jesus are one and the same? Can anybody clarify that for me?

I have always taken issue with this attitude. How do you know?

The bible is not false. How can anything so enormous fall under such a simple definition? The bible is a collection of texts spanning hundreds of years, across numerous countries and cultures. Some parts historical fact, some part myth, some part legend, some part fairy tales, some parts rantings of madmen and everything in between.

How do you know Jesus never existed? Sure, a great case could be made that he did not exist under that name, as it is a recent fabrication. I have read convincing texts that he may not have exited in that time period. But how to know that he never existed? This teacher regardless of what name he may be called, seems to, like the bible, span hundreds of years, or even thousands, and numerous countries and cultures, pretty much always saying the same basic things.

If you do a study of comparative religion, you find that so much of what we find in both modern and ancient belief systems does have a base of some kind. Some scholars suggest that even greek heroes and gods, like Perseus or Heracles, and Norse legends like Odin and Thor are likely based on real people, heroes who did great things before writing existed and who, over a long time, were deified by the people who followed them. Even then, these are things we can never know.

It is the people who claim to know that are the bane to any kind of new thought, or belief in self.

What a coincidence.

A Conspiracy Theory believer, LinuxOnly, posts about conservative Christianity and the return of Satan.

Yep.

Conspiracy Theory is a religion to those who believe in CT.

LinuxOnly has just proved the proof in his OP.

He is just replacing one religion with another to explain that which he does not understand.

QED.

People can believe whatever they want about Jesus or any other person or religion. But to state that Jesus was an imaginary figure is intellectually dishonest. There is plenty of secular evidence that he did indeed live. Even the most radical atheists admit that he really existed. You don't see anyone claiming that the Buddha or Mohammed didn't exist. Although I am skeptical about all religions, I believe they have all made an attempt to explain the unknowable. The world is going to be much worse with the inevitable breakdown of Christianity.

Man was really meant to live in small groups of a few dozen people. The members of the tribe know each other their entire lives. The consequences of this is that they follow a natural morality. If one tribesman hurts another tribesman, it will come back on him, because the other guy isn't going away, thus it is in your interest to practice a natural version of "Do unto others as you would have others do unto you". In addition, the tribesmen are never alone and thus not fully aware of themselves as individuals. This significantly reduces the death anxiety. Everyone lives in relative equality, with the chief not having much more then anyone else. The tribe spends much of their time living in the present without regret of the past or worry of the future, hence presence serves as a natural spirituality. There are no strangers. Religion is not necessary or useful.

The emergence of civilization creates the problems and the fall of man. Civilization has a small elite that dominates the 99% of everyone else, who are slaves. The people are no longer a part of small group. But now you are for the first time surrounded by strangers; hence natural morality breaks down. A member of your tribe was actually part of you, but a stranger is totally separate. In addition, the elite see their slaves as nothing more then property (the legal designation of a slave). Life is a living hell for the slaves.

Religion actually improves the state of man living in civilization. In place of the original innocence of the tribes, religion attempts to simulate the natural morality with rules of behavior. If even a few of the elites believe in a God that creates future punishment for wrongs against ones fellow man, this will moderate their behavior. It is the only motivational force that could stop an all powerful human being from inflicting cruelty on another human being. Hence, religion is at least partially responsible for the eventual ending of slavery.

What we have now is a situation even potentially worse then the earlier civilizations. With the elite no longer believing in a God, there is no advantage for them to treat other human beings fairly. Since they have no soul, they can't be punished in the afterlife. As a substitute for religion, they invent their own rituals and symbols, and worship themselves. This explains the weird rituals in organizations like Skull & Bones - which is just a way to convince a small group that they are special and better then everyone else. In addition, the rest of us spend most of our time dealing with strangers, and are always alone, increasing our death anxiety. The modern civilization without religion will be even worse then the ancient civilizations, because the technology will allow much greater control - it will be technically feasible for one man to control billions of alienated, lonely people through technology - something Julius Caesar could only dream of.

I think Christianity itself is a net good for society. However, the individual Christians themselves, at least in America, tend to be quite hypocritical and self righteous. It is more like a status symbol they use to smash you over the head with to claim they are better than you on a moral level. But if you just listen to them, especially the ones who wear it on their sleeves, they are often the meanest people you could meet even compared to the atheists.

The World's Sixteen Crucified Saviours Christianity Before Christ [Paperback]
Kersey Graves (Author), Acharya S. (Author) There were many so-called Christs before Jesus. Its all just a worldwide story nothing else. When you try to prove his promises:John14:13 Go ahead and ask anything in his name and you will prove it to yourself that he is not real. Look its time to wake up. I am speaking primarily to the black men on here. I know most of us have been raised in the church but if you do some research yourself you will find the whole book is a massive fraud. http://www.godisimaginery.com http://www.evilbible.com Please wake up.

And even if Jesus/Zeus existed he was not the son of god. He was just a mortal man who said things that made people felt good. Somewhat like Obama. Great orator with little substance.
And by the way i am completely convinced that jesus never existed.

Can I ask what the bloody hell do your emotionally compromised beliefs on Christianity and Jesus have to do with Luciferianism and other occult religions and secret societies being used to bring about global socialism...

In response to your JesusNeverExisted.com, why should we go read pseudo-scepticism? Intellectual drivel and fake debates get you no where closer to the truth. Talk about Confirmation bias!

I posted videos about Jesus and the hijacking of Christianity. You said they were a "waste of time" without even tasting them.
Apart from documented history, the purpose of the videos is get you to THINK. HOW ABOUT THAT!!

I'm very sorry that you were brainwashed as a child. Organized religion is brutal and billions of children shared the same fate as you. You have a lot of issues. Get some therapy, don't take it out on the truth, (history), or other people.

Take your meds and stop believing in Alex Jones and David Icke already. Its all bullshit. They are making merchandise of all of you. You are the one that has issues not me. There is no global socialism coming. Your mind is full of fear and paranoia. People like you are just so sad.
Martial Law did not come in 2000 as they said on youtube. The so-called fema camps are not going to be used. The so-called fema coffins will not be used. Your mind is full of warped beliefs that will NEVER happen.
