If America Is Done

In my viewpoint, America is done as a nation.

What does that mean to us? It really doesn’t change anything, because first we are citizens of heaven. This world is not our home. Perhaps we can stop thinking so much about this world and not the next. The only opportunity the country has is to repent and turn to God, and I’m talking about the nation, not just the churches.

We should desire, in the midst of judgment, pockets of God’s mercy. It’s a better situation than Sodom, because there are far more than ten righteous. However, we’re on our way there for many reasons. As well, we can slow it down, slow down the ultimate demise, and we should want that for our children and grandchildren. The grandparents and parents should consider that. This is not just about you, whether you’re going to enjoy the end of your life, but what will leave behind for your children.

Whether we have good churches, whether those churches are obedient, does matter. You can hasten destruction. You can make it much more difficult for the future on this earth for your children and grandchildren by what you do. You want to be an influence of righteousness if not being a basis for God withholding judgment yourself. He deserves to be honored even in the midst of wickedness, like an Elijah and Elisha of old. Let’s do what we can do.

It's an association of ordinary people and, as such, it has all the defects and problems of...ordinary people. But some people can do extraordinary things, and you can't exclude some of these people could be men and women of church. It's plain statistics.

The place in Italy I come from (Veneto) is kind of famous for its anticlerical attitude. We know that belonging to a religious or spiritual community is no guarantee of being of a higher moral standards. It's quite the opposite most of the times: a church is a community with a power hierarchy and those who want or like to climb a hierarchy for their own benefit, they will find the church an ideal place.

Yes, it a traditional vessel in which evil both hides and thrives.

It is gratifying to see some people here are beginning to see pious "Christians" for what they truly are. And there is so much more to understand about them.

I'm quite sure our few resident purveyers of religious manipulation and brainwashing would disagree however. No names, you all know who they are..... We can expect one or two to pipe in with, "But those aren't REAL Christians! Those are fakes!" Newsflash: All religion is fake and designed to overtake your powers of reason and free will.

I hate the Roman Catholic church and any church, small and big. They have indeed been systems of mass manipulation and control since the dawn of time.

I would not want to put all "Christians" in the same black cauldron, though.

Like any human association (allegedly) created for the "collective good", a church will always attract a fair number of idealistic people who believe it's a good place to express their desire to help, to be of service. Some of these people will end up corrupted by the system, especially if they desire more authority than what is needed to just "do good". A few of them, very few probably, will remain idealistic and continue to be genuinely good people who want to help and love. These few tend to remain at the base of the pyramid of authority, so that they are rarely known or celebrated.

What I just said is 100% applicable to a political party as well, or those large religious groups like Opus Dei or Comunione Liberazione in Italy, charity organisations like the Lions Clubs, the Rotary Club, etc.

We are just human. We carry our defects in every community we create or join. Sometimes we also carry our genuine aspiration to be a force for good, change the world, or even change ourselves.

So let's hate the message, but not all messengers.

Churches are evil, yes, but having moral coordinates and a sensibility towards those around us, is very necessary to live in this world as a productive social being. Or, at least, a "better" productive social being.

Those without moral coordinates will easily end up living a life of hate, frustration and solitude, no matter how good it seems from the outside.
