Mid 30s Information Technology professional living in New York City. I love to travel internationally, learn new languages, and meet new people. I don't have a wife or kids nor do I want them any time soon. At this point, I simply want to experience life.
Like most of you here, I'm well educated, fun-loving, and just want to find places in the world where these traits are valued.
I'm a black man who loves nothing more than a tall, thin, black woman. Fortunately I've discovered Dominican Republic which has tons of these gorgeous, intelligent, friendly, approachable females (see my avatar).
But of course, there's a lot more to experience in this world, so I'm excited to interact with the fellas around here.
I'm incredibly grateful to have located this community and look forward to contributing and learning a great deal.

Welcome to the forum, scott529. I'm also from NYC livin' in Queens. BTW...is that avatar you got really a girl from D.R.?--because she's hot as f**k! I'm surprised you couldn't find a Latin chick in NYC, since the city is full of them. Of course, many of them got nasty attitudes and sh*t, so even though I'm attracted to Latin girls, I could never ever date one as an Asian male. Anyways, welcome...

Welcome to HA, Scott. Glad you found HA, and glad you're dipping your, uh, toe in the water overseas.
BTW I'm with Zboy - we DO need to know if your avatar girl is Dominicana.

Hi all,
I appreciate the messages.
Zboy, I've been in NYC for about a year and have dated a couple of beautiful latin women. Let me be clear, New York City has some of the most physically attractive women on the planet.
However, in D.R. the ladies have a completely different vibe. The physical beauty remains, but now we can toss in eye contact, humility, smiling, flirting, pride in their femininity, and what I would call
social effort which means they show intense desire to hold your attention during conversations. From my experience, these traits seem to be cultural and are discarded upon assimilation into U.S. society...I'm sure I don't need to explain around here.
By the way...Zboy, Jester, yes the girl in my avatar lives in Santo Domingo. She's in full possession of that cool D.R. vibe described above. I have more pictures of her (and other women) that I look forward to sharing with you guys.
Thanks for the welcome!

Hey Scott,
Glad to see another fellow NY'er here. I don't remember if you mentioned it or not, but which borough are you residing in? I'm currently in Brooklyn, although I don't know for how much longer.
Although I am married to a wonderful Chinese woman (going on 6 years now) I do agree with you that NYC has some very physically attractive women. Unfortunately, their personalities are rarely as attractive as their looks.
I'm interested to know more about your experiences so far in NYC. Also, when and how to you plan to go to the DR? I don't know much about that place, as most guys here talk about the Phils, Eastern Europe, etc. It would be interesting to hear new info about a new country.
Welcome!

I can't wait Scott I am out to DR in September!, having traveled Asia extensively, I now wanna hit some South American areas...
Its the same in Asia, you like a girl you know by eye contact, how good is that? yet in the West you are lucky to get it and if you do it can mean nothing at all, dating in the West is a joke.

Wow, post more bootiful photos! And welcome to this place.
I went to NYC, I loved the city, but I can't remember seeing that many hot women.

You must of had "panda eyes" during that trip. LOL!
I have to go back to NYC for work in 1 week. Last time I went, women stared at me alot and a few flirted with me rather brazenly. Maybe a black man in a suit is exotic? I don't know, but the black Latino ones were not as friendly I saw. My brother told me that they would not be, so I had an idea. Makes no difference, I get to go back to China after NY
Welcome to HA Scott!

@Bane, I live in Manhattan. New York is definitely my favorite U.S. city. In addition to IT (which pays the bills), I'm also a writer and photographer. I'm inspired everyday by the creative energy, whether on a subway platform or Broadway stage. The artistic scene here is fantastic. I also enjoy experiencing the city's different languages, cultures, neighborhoods, cuisines, etc.
But you hit the nail on the head regarding the personalities of attractive women here in the city.
I’m actually planning to leave the United States to live abroad in January 2014. I’ve been stacking my cash for the past 5 months and will continue saving for the rest of 2013. I just earned my TESOL certification and plan to teach abroad next year. Dominican Republic is one of my finalists and so is Brazil. I’ve never been to Brazil, so I actually created a post on the Latin American board seeking a comparison of D.R. and Brazil. Hopefully someone can provide some insight.
@Ringspun, what part of D.R. are you visiting? How long will you be there? If you don’t already, I highly recommend you learn some basic Spanish phrases. Nothing unusual…just greetings and responses related to your background, interests, and likes. From my experience, Dominican women are very friendly & social, and they love to ask you lots of questions. It’s just a part of their culture…and of course is a classic indication of interest. So you just need to have enough vocabulary to keep the flow going.
@Kai, this is a great time to visit the city. The temperature's rising, so the (very fashionable) NYC women are stepping into their summer tank tops, dresses, sandals, etc. My advice when you get here and have some free time...Find a large park, chill on the lawn, and just enjoy the scenery.
@Xiongmao, your wish is my command. A couple more reasons why I'm Happier Abroad in Dominican Republic…

I also work in IT as well. A couple others here do to, like Irizarry. We probably should keep contact with each other. IT is a small world...alliances make things very easy years later.

Hey, I've been talking about DR via a couple of trip reports from last 2 years or so (I stayed a month each time and hit Haiti one of those times too). Glad you discovered it the hard way lol.
I'm into the tall chicks too but I like the ones with some thickness and curves. There's plenty of that in DR as you know
One of my friends from there even posted here for a short time (Jeygonza) and she is 5'10" with very nice curves, a pretty face, and flawless skin even tho she's around 32 I think.
One reason I don't relocate there longer term is cus Asia is generally much safer, even the more dangerous countries like Phils. Most of locals I met warned me that most parts of Santo Domingo are just not safe to walk around at night and even the mini buses or public cars can be dangerous. Getting a random taxi off street is also not good at night in barrios. Better to go with Apollo or other big taxi company.
But yr totally right about the eye contact, lack of social fear, and generally outgoing nature of people there. Strangers talk to strangers as if they know each other well often. Sometimes when you get into one of the public cars, you end up with a hot chick practically sitting in your lap (they pack em in like sardines) and as she enters, she will likely greet everyone, so different than US.
Next trip, travel around a bit, check out the north and other areas of country. But be careful in Boca Chica, it's pretty nasty and some locals I know don't even wanna go there.
