Hey Nomad,
Welcome to the forum. I'm also curious to know more. Could you give us a bit of background about yourself, what it's like in Phils and what led you to move and stay there for 3 years?

i have a buddy who works in the US and he sends me some work to do for him, its not that high paying, i make about $1300 a month doing it 30ish hours a week
i have been playing online poker through most of my time in asia (and for the last 10 years) but am on a 6 month break from it now, and kinda hoping never to go back to it if i can avoid it, poker is dying
i spend a bit under $1k a month

Re: Hello new to the forum
I checked out your blog, I like it. A couple of questions...
1. Do you think there is enough demand out there where you could make money off your blog by offering "consulting" services to other guys out there who are interested in moving to Asia. You could charge for giving specific advise to their questions, and maybe even make youtube videos in response to their inquiries. Do you think this is feasible?
(If you've heard of Aaron Clarey, he has his asshole consulting business; this would be the same concept but focused solely on expat advice, and you would be reporting directly from the Philippines, which would give you much more credibility).
2. I have never lived in the Phils long term, the longest time I've spent there was two months. Since you've been there for a long time, what do you think is better, just permanently moving there, or staying in the West for the majority of the year, but spending a month or two at a time in Asia?

Yeah, ask him about it. Personally I think it's a good idea, that's what I'd do if I lived in the Phils but I'm not sure if it would make any money. It seems like everyone on the internet only wants to pay a couple of bucks for good, helpful information.nomadphilippines wrote:i would love to be a consultant but wouldn't even know where to get started, i will run that idea by the guy who runs my site though heehehe
