It's funny how what used to be considered "being realistic" is now viewed as "pessimism" in the US. The US has been overtaken by the "positive thinking" cult, and it's nothing more than mental masturbation, leaving the less-fortunate wondering why they are such "losers". The positive-thinking cult leaves no room in the culture for normal or average people. No, not everyone is a winner and an orchestra can't be made up of just 1st violins. Life is tough and we all need to help each other out; not just blow each other off through "positive thinking".
