Dubai is now a Sin City - Ladislav beware

Post by ssjparris »

okay ladislav ( or David lady slav hehe.) wants to scare me away from middle eastern women.

he told me about dubai and said that hey if you look at a woman there then the authorities will
do bad things to you. like lashing or cutting your head off for sexual relations with a woman.

so i decided to look to see if this was true or not.

this article tells you how sexually liberated they are now.

i have been there in 2007. its okay to look at them. Even the sexy muslim women walking around.

there are LOTS of gay men there too. this is against their religion by the way. how they are getting
away with it. well its dubai. people are free there to be what they want.

even russian prostitute women late at night are seen walking around in mini skirts. again in other
muslim countries seeing something like this will get the girl in trouble. but alas dubai is free now
of religious repression.

article is here ==> http://www.escapeartist.com/efam/58/Nig ... Dubai.html

excerpts from article:

1. Where do people meet? Pretty much the same as in America. The only difference is that here, it seems, everyone is on the prowl 24/7, both men and women. Every Friday evening there is an outdoor jazz concert in one park. The music is good and the scene is ‘happening’, but it’s one big ‘pick up’ joint. When my friend Khalil goes there, he gives away about a half dozen business cards.

Which is how contacts are made for the most part. When I first came to Dubai, I heard from my friend Matt how local Arab men ‘meet’ Arab women....

2. “They congregate in the shopping centers. When they see a girl they like, they’ll drop a business card on the floor and walk away. The girl will pick it up.

Some guys aren’t content to take the chance. Stories abound of women out driving, only to have a car pull up alongside, a window come down, and a cell phone thrown into their car. Other men go the extra mile. Saskia was driving home late one night when a dishdasha-clad driver actually cut her off, forcing her to pull over. “He jumped out of the car, came over and introduced himself, and asked me to go to a party! she says. “He said he needed a western girlfriend to accompany him to the party and said he’d even pay.

When it comes to dating, this city is a mini United Nations. Iranians dating Brits Filipinos dating Brazilians Canadians dating Palestinians. Everyone is having fun here trying to avoid the insanity of the region. Some of us, however, just hang out at places like Dunkin’ Donuts. How sad.

okay ladislav i rest my case my brother. You can NOT disprove this. it is a fact dubai is the middle
east of freedom away from religious control and even authoritative control. halleluyah !!!

Ok, I am throwing in the towel. You win. Keep in mind however, that the laws are on the books and I was just quoting them. Whatever people do there, they do at their own risk. Tell me how it goes when you go there.

I am not taking my chances.

This is just my opinion and I am happy that things are happening for other people there.

I always win david oops i mean ladislav. but yes i think they just put the laws there to make it seem like the government really wants to keep them intact. but they don't because dubai is for tourists and they have to give tourists what they want. they can't kill every tourists or torture every tourist that comes in there that would probably start wars with other countries.

No, they can't kill all the tourists, but they can still kill some, and if you turn out to be that one, that is no fun indeed.

It's best not to do illegal things in countries where there are very strict laws. Take Singapore for example.

They caned and imprisoned an American there because of theft and vandalism.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_P._Fay

...and they executed an Australian for drug possession.
http://english.hani.co.kr/arti/english_ ... 24903.html

I'm aware that Singapore is not in the Middle East, but I think the same principles still apply. Any foreigner does illegal things at his/her own risk--and sometimes they are very, very unlucky!

So it's not realistic to have this arrogant "I'm a foreigner so their laws can't touch me" kind of attitude. If you were the son of a US Senator, then perhaps you might indeed be untouchable, but many foreign countries have no problem with executing ordinary tourists who break their laws.

Also, the country's laws aside, the police in many foreign countries might very well beat the crap out of you even if they don't take you to jail or to court. There isn't any ACLU in these countries. Perhaps you could complain to your embassy which might lead to an investigation which will go nowhere. Long story short: don't mess with the police in foreign countries.

Ladislav's position is very wise.

you guys are too funny and too silly. the truth is right there in plain site through the articles listed and so forth and so on.

it is most unwise to be scared of others and what they might do to you. that is being paranoid. this includes jackal and ladislav. all scared and running with a tail between their legs. you do realize being scared like this will attract the thing you most fear. so stop being paranoid and just enjoy it life there.

two celebrities are living there. Mr. Cowell from american idol and david beckham. they party all the time. i am sure cowell loves the slim ladies with mini skirts on too. so please stop with this fear non sense and start thinking more positive so that you won't have to get your head cut off or beaten up. HA.

tourists can not and will not get into any kind of trouble simply it is one gigantic hot spot for tourists. If tourists here these kinds of stories then bye bye dubai. dubai will have no chance of succeding any longer when it come to money.

Really? A positive thought won't stop a fist or a bullet. Would you bicycle across Iraq?

Two American guys were once drinking and making a lot of noise in a bar which was full of gypsies in the small city where I live. Later two gypsies followed them as they walked home and beat the shit out of them. These two Americans certainly weren't afraid of anything happening, but it happened anyway. A year ago, a man killed two people with a machete here. Those two peope certainly didn't expect that to happen either. These things don't happen frequently, but they do happen. People die everyday who don't expect to die. To think that one is special or invincible is foolish.

I do enjoy life here. I'm not worried about many things here. If I'm staying away from anything, it's from Middle Eastern countries with strict laws.

I think you're comparing apples to oranges. No, governments wouldn't bother celebrities because they would rather just fine them and take their money. An ordinary guy can't necessarily count on such protections, however.

Perhaps you could be right that things in Dubai are quite relaxed at the moment, but there are plenty of places in the world where that's not true at all.

jackal your ignorance is showing. things CANNOT happen bad to you if it is not within your mind.

you open door ways for things to come in as soon as you fear it. this is why you have not been attacked. you have not opened any door ways for bad things to come in.

i have been in dubai without any trouble because i was not afraid of anything. your outside reality is a projection of what is inside.

i rest my case. believe what you will. peace my brother. that is all i want.

Okay, we have different ideas about metaphysics.

Since I am a Buddhist, I take the view that it's impossible to know every negative thing which your mind contains if you are not enlightened. There are lots of negative things in the deep parts of our minds as a result of committing bad actions in our past lives. These will cause us to suffer at some time in the future if we haven't performed enough positive actions to make up for them. These negative causes can ripen into negative effects at any moment.

Sometimes a postitive, altruistic mindset is enough to keep trouble at bay, but sometimes that's not enough. In some situations, we won't be strong enough to resist the negativity we encounter. We each have our limits.

I acknowledge the effect of one's mindset on reality, but I just don't like to put all my eggs in one basket. Sure, keep on being calm and positive, but at the same time, I encourage people to be alert and aware of their environment, to know the consequences of any risks they take, and to research a place before they go there, so that they can avoid a lot of unnecessary trouble. Well-informed travelers are usually more successful travelers.

On a completely separate topic, I looked at some of those escort sites and one of them was charging 2500 AED (680 USD) for one hour! Hell, in Eastern Europe, that same amount could allow you to bang women for many months on end.

So why bother going to Dubai at all if everything is so wildly overpriced?

I wonder if they give lashes in Dubai for spreading new age nonsense? After all, it is un-Islamic.

If the outside ( outward world) is the reflection of the inside ( the inner world)then it is also written in the inner world that Dubai has all these laws that one needs to be careful of. And this discussion about the risks of doing these things in the Arab world which you see here and the warning thereof are also reflections of your inside.

My feeling is that as long as things are happening inside closed doors and it is mainly Arab men picking up non Arab women and not the other way around, and no one sees anything, then the authorities are turning a blind eye to it. Largely, that is. You are still taking chances.

I drank in Saudi Arabia many times, and I had sex in AIDS infested Thailand in the early 1990ies. Was it a brave thing to do? Well, now that I look back, I was taking big risks and being foolhardy and cavalier. I came out of those places unscathed, but other guys did not.

If anyone wants to take a chance, well, let them. It is their life after all.

hmmm...they do that for some reason. but its all good in the hood. i never had anything bad happen to me. perhaps this will change in the future. maybe dubai is a starting point , a beaken of light for all arab countries for some sort of freedom. hopefully they won't be all up on my grill. i will have to slap them silly with my dick. that will teach them a lesson.

Perhaps they do...

...but if you're refering to my post, I have to say that there is nothing "new" about the ideas of reincarnation and karma. Buddha taught these things 500 years before Jesus was born. And before Buddha, the Hindus had had similar, but slightly different ideas about these things for thousands of years.

Although people who write New Age books frequently steal ideas from Eastern religions and then dress them up in a new way and mix them with their own theories.

What is "sense" and what is "nonsense" is up to each individual to decide, but what is old and what is new is quite clear.

I think that Turkey is probably the most liberal Muslim country. Both prostitution and alcohol are legal there and many hookers from the former Soviet republics go there because it only costs 10 Euros to get a three month visa there.
