Quick Tip: Potent Homemade Eye Drops For Dryness, Irritation, Itching, and Various Infections

Most people experience periodic eye problems, including infections, dryness and injuries. Eye drops are usually the first response to these situations, but the eye drops that are sold in pharmacies normally contain thimerosal (thiomersal). Thimerosal is an allergy-inflicting, mercury-containing preservative that has rightly sparked outrage for its use in vaccines. If this were not bad enough, standard eye drops contain a plethora of toxic ingredients that are designed to ensure that the solution never has bacterial growth. In other words, these chemicals are chosen specifically because they are slightly poisonous. It is par for the course with the chemical-pharmaceutical-medical industrial complex.
After becoming aware of these problems, we decided to formulate our own eye drops; with safety, simplicity, and effectiveness as our guiding principals. Our astoundingly simple formulation is more effective at relieving conditions such as conjunctivitis ("pink eye") than over-the-counter medications. The base for the eye drops is colloidal silver, which is a safe, natural anti-biotic and anti-microbial. A small amount of sea salt is then added to the colloidal silver solution to resupply the saline that is washed away, so that the resultant solution is typically painless. Sea salt should aways be used instead of table salt. Contrary to what some may assume, this results in significantly less burn, and further helps to kill infections. For most people experiencing eye irritation and dryness, the solution will cause no discomfort whatsoever.
For many, the inclusion of sea salt will have surprising results. Normal saline (made with table salt) will usually cause some discomfort in the eyes, regardless of how well it is made. Table salt is slightly toxic because of the way minerals are stripped from it during processing, and ironically, these same minerals are often resold to vitamin companies, since the body obviously needs them. They really do remove the minerals that your body needs, while making the sodium toxic in the process, and then they resell those same minerals back to us in supplements. Despite the visible mineral (dirt like) particles found in sea salt, which may seem like frightening impurities when the solution is first made, a person is actually very unlikely to experience any irritation from it.
The Recipe
3 fl. oz silver (6 U.S. Tablespoons)
A pinch of sea salt (between 1/16 and 1/8 of a teaspoon)
We recommend that the solution be disposed of after 3 weeks of storage, because the silver particles are eventually destroyed by the sea salt. Almost everyone knows that silver is typically resistant to corrosion, but this solution has almost atomic-sized silver particles that are kept in salt water for an extended period. Sea salt will destroy any metal having colloidal-sized particles, in a relatively short period of time. If you use Utopia Silver (our favorite), you will probably notice that it turns clear after complete breakdown.
Those who must use eye drops routinely due to contact lenses should know that it is possible to improve, and in some cases actually correct poor vision with improved nutrition. Sprouts (as in baby plants, not brussel sprouts) seem to be particularly helpful for the eyes. In addition, retinol, the most absorbable form of vitamin A, is found in animal sources including beef, eggs, and fish.
