I just got an xp tablet for writing, and all I have to say is wow. I cant believe how such a great os it is. and all it needs to run is 233 mhz. to me, that is pretty sweet. As I thought more and more, I just thought of how sweet tech was during the early 2000s, and how creative it was. Now it seems like all tech is about is ishit. Not to be offensive, but it seems like it is the definition of conspicuous consumption and mass manufacturing. When I grew up, tech was fun, it was meant to be modded. Now it is disposable. That is why I dont like Apple products, and newer products now.

I like those. I also like the Pandora Box, which is open source, but mostly for games. Raspberry pi is real interesting.

...and the connection to modern Capitalism is?
Something to think about.
I use an Android tablet, but I do have an ipod as my music player. There's just no good alternative.

Well, I am not trying to defend modern capitalism though, never was. I believe that monopolies, corporations (in their currenct incatnation), patents, copyrights, among other things like subsidized education create what we have, which is what we define as capitalism. I believe many features of our current capitalistic system need to be evaluated. To see an example of this, see the whole patent war in the mobile space. I am not trying to put you down, I just hate the attitude behind iDevices. It just seems like everyone is clamoring for an iPhone, just because they are iPhones. It just seems like people think it makes them cool and hipster. Same thing for other brand names. I wear brand name clothing sometimes, and if it works, it works. But to wrap your identity in American Eagle and iPhones just seems shallow. Understand what I mean? But trying explaining it, and it seems like you are the one who has the problem (and btw, I have nothing against the technology itself, just the brands that make people into idiots sometimes).

At least we're not Germany, banning Android tablets and all. When I was still in college I had a design professor that I asked about intellectual property. I thought IP Laws would bock creativity, but he disagreed with me. For one thing, that the law is different in Germany suggests IP is not as clear cut as some people would make it. It's almost arbitrary. Then I think Android tablets are just better than iPads, more innovative. So IP Law in that sense actually hurts innovation.
Well it turns out Thomas Jefferson was against IP Law too, so I'm not just crazy.
