I may be behind the times on this, but I just started looking at internet radio. I am very impressed with last.fm and its ability to find music for me. I just started using it today. Here is my profile.

Thanks.

I find Pandora too hard to use - its custom channels I create tend to drift way off what I want.

Subscribed to Satellite XM radio a few weeks ago but planning to cancel. Annoying ads during news shows. Plus not many music choices.

I'll try this one.

Accuradio is the best internet radio station EVER.

Last.fm has tons of tracks available, that aren't even playable. Stupid as heck, right? Also, they mix 2-4 different songs under one title, so if you like the studio recorded version of a song, last.fm probably has a concert version you don't like, but throws it in there anyway. Also, it's terrible at finding other tracks you may like, compared to Accuradio. This is based on my experience, in which I have simple tastes.

Accuradio seems to be very smart in finding tracks I might like. Not only that, they have over 150 different music channels.

You can rate songs, have unlimited skips(commercials are unskippable, unless you change channels), ban/un-ban artists/songs you don't wanna hear(unlike last.fm, they STAY GONE!), mix/un-mix two or more of your favorite channels and save all your customizations. Accuradio is MORE... accurate radio. :D

Try it! It's free! All you need to do is sign in with your email/password.

If you want the old site which IMO is better:

I looked again at these internet radio stations and I am not so impressed. If I want to find a specific song, I can go to YouTube or buy it on Amazon. What I want from an internet radio station is for it to find songs for me. last.fm got off to good start but isn't improving as it should. I think it just finds similar artists to the ones I listened to. Internet radio is an obvious area for collaborative filtering. Why aren't these radio stations doing this?
