I've been watching Superman and Lois, a relatively new TV show.
I just got to this scene.
Superman and Lois have twin sons in this movie. One of them, the depressed kid, starts having superpowers, a fraction of Superman's, but growing stronger. This kid falls for this other boy's boyfriend. She breaks up with the other boy and dates the Kent boy. Then she goes off to camp and kisses a girl and tell's the Kent boy about it.
In this scene, he decides to talk to her about it, and gives her his grandmother's jewelry. He doesn't break up with her for kissing some chick at camp. He doesn't even give her a stern lecture. Instead, he doubles down and gives up family jewelry to a girl who did him like that.
This fictional beta kid needs to get some self-respect. A girl who acts like that is extremely high risk for a long term relationship. If he loved her so much he wanted to keep her, he should also have addressed her behavior and given her a warning. Or he could have just dumped her and realized there are girls out there who aren't as freaky who are lower risk for a relationship.
