Poll: Are romance tours a good value for the money?

To clarify are romance tours provided by marriages agencies like AFA, Dream connections, etc.. a good value for the 4,600 sometimes up to 5000 (not sure if it's all priced in euros) you are spending to meet "pre-selected" women from a catalog?

None of this includes airfare, hotel costs, etc.. The service includes a formal dinner with a group of women, translator, and "pre-selection" which may or may not include legitimate background checks.

The debate is here:

Been on one didnt like it
Havent been on one, think it would likely suck
Havent been on one, think it would likely rock

Error alert:

Repatriate, AFA tours do include airfare and they run in the $3000+ range. Look that up on their site.

You generalize too much and are error prone.

I'll wait to see if you'll correct yourself on these errors or not. If you don't, you have no credibility or honor.

Btw, those poll options are too black and white. I would not vote on any of them. You should add one such as "Romance Tours are not a scam, but they are overpriced and make exaggerated claims and misrepresentations."

Your poll question should be about "romance tours" not "marriage agencies", to be more specific with what you're referring to.

Ok Repatriate, I just fixed your posts and poll options. You made a lot of spelling and grammar errors. I also changed the title to make the question more specific. Next time, get educated dude.

Winston basically changed the paramters from 3000-4600 instead of 4600-5000 and other deceptiive shit to try and move the goal posts to protect his sponsors.

What a f***ing fraud.

Free speech my ass. You clown. You're nothing but a sell out.

I'm just going to time and date stamp the current poll outcome which basically indicates 100% agree that marriage agencies are a rip off.

Just noting that in case winston decides to manually edit the polls. Of course he could edit this whole thread too like the dishonest little elf that he is.

If you are too poor for some romance tour. You are also too poor for an American Bitch.

“Average wedding cost $28,400 last year,â€￾ reports CNN Money. “Average U.S. wedding costs $27,000!!â€￾ enthuses the New York Daily News. “Average cost of U.S. wedding hits $27,021,â€￾ declares Reuters, "

Jester, you spend five grand for a chair? Or even if it is $3600, there are no guarantees you meet anyone. Or anyone that is not only interested in your money.

The AFA Tour does not include air fare.

THE "PHILIPPINE ROMANCE TRIP" INCLUDES
•Two fully catered, specific invitation, large Socials
•Hotel accommodations in Davao Philippines
•Hotel accommodations in Cebu Philippines
•Unlimited Personal Introductions
•Airport Pickup
•Breakfast daily
•One hotel area and city orientation tour
•24-hour hospitality and guidance from our AFA staff
•In-house complimentary interpreting services located in the AFA office
•1 month Platinum Membership ($95.00 value)
•Publication "The Foreign Bride Travel Guide" ($25 value)

But they are also cheaper than even Winston claimed.

Select City Arrival Departure Days Cost
Davao Philippines Oct 9 Oct 15 7 days/ 6 nights $2195
Davao Philippines Oct 9 Oct 18 10 days/ 9 nights $2595
Davao Philippines Oct 9 Oct 22 14 days/ 13 nights $3095
Shenzhen China Nov 27 Dec 3 7days/ 6 nights $1995
Shenzhen China Nov 27 Dec 6 10 days/ 9 nights $2495
Shenzhen China Nov 27 Dec 10 14 days/ 13 nights $2895

So I took the lowest cost flight I could find on Kayak ($1597), but to try and be fair I looked at Nov 12 - 26 (same days of the week but a month out to try and lower the cost). Only breakfast is covered so figure $10-20 a day for food - say $150 for the 2 weeks. Total cost = $4,850 give or take for the 14 day tour. So what CAN you buy for five grand?

Well you could start a business: http://wallstcheatsheet.com/stocks/15-b ... ?a=viewall

Or a top of the line TV (with money left over)
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-65- ... &cp=1&lp=1

A used car. A kick-ass vacation to the far east. Or, if you already live there you could meet, wine and dine a dozen girls who are more likely to marry you than anyone at a romance tour. I mean at current exchange rates $5000 is PHP 223,000. So I would imagine it would go a very long way with most of you.

I have been following the Philippine Dreams blog and he posted his total monthly expenditures for July and August and I believe his outlays averaged about $1200 per month. He rents a house in Dumaguete and has a girlfriend so his costs are for two. So that would cover 4 months of living expenses.

I mean I keep reading un this forum how easy it is to pick up women in PI so why pay 5K for 2 socials?
