Was British Colonialism a good thing?

What do you think of the British Empire and colonialism? Was it a good thing or a bad thing for the natives of the countries the British settled in?

It often was in the short term because it involved good people, but given that it was the precursor to the evil global empire we have now, ultimately the answer is no. That's overall. As to the natives, for one thing who cares and for another it is difficult to say as most of them would not be alive anyway were it not for British technology.

This is a genocide that happened in Rwanda thanks to colonisation from Germany and Belgium.

Other such genocides took place throughout history thanks to British colonisation. Like the slaughter of the native American tribes and the Aborigines who were massacred. Those who survived were forced to assimilate into a British capitalist system where they live in slums in appalling conditions.

But at least we brought them democracy and medication, eh?

In Africa people were doing just fine until British settlers came along. They were living self sufficiently until British settlers colonised their land and forced them to pay rent on land they already owned. So now instead of growing crops to live self suffiently, they grew crops to pay their rent to British landlords.

Didn't the British also f**k India over? One of the most successful countries of the ancient world. Pretty sure the British f***ed up their loom industry and caused all sorts of famine and poverty as a result.

The British f***ed up India so much that :
1) Pakistan became Portugal, India remained as Spain if you were to get my drift. (or Sudan and South Sudan respectively as another example)
2) Made the Indian mind even more cognisant of the bigoted caste system so much that Indians are racist towards dark-hued Indians of places like Chennai and the nation of Sri Lanka, too. I have close Indian friends, and when I tell them that they are originally descendants of southeastern Africans, their British-caste-system mind cannot fathom it!!!! Yes via plate tectonics India used to be part of Madagascar 90M+ years ago.

Dear God man, its time for you to learn some actual history and stop listening to the politically correct version of history.

Most negros were doing the negro version of just fine. They had a low population with relative leisure and abundance where they could breed as much as they wanted due to being continually culled by disease and killing each other. Females did most of the little work required, not because they were good at it but because males could beat them up if they didn't. Males would lie around drinking primitive beer and occasionally rouse themselves to do something manly like hunting or killing each other. People should have left them to it. Notice they try to recreate this idyllic lifestyle wherever they are transported.

Yes.. The African negros were happier back then. Now they are in your neighborhood near you! in London and in any major western cities killing, stealing, and raping white wimminz while the white men are watching the carnage unfold.

Your racist sentiments are not an accurate representation of history. British colonialism did nothing for people living in Africa. They were just forced to sell crops to pay rent to British landlords instead of living self sufficiently. The man who believes the Church was a benevolent influence on society telling me to learn some actual history  f***ing hilarious. Everything you post is cringe as f**k.

I see you didn’t read a page of that book. It’s a huge collection of what dozens of different European explorers said about Africa. The continent was an absolute hellscape. If anything colonialism seriously fixed the place up.

It depends how you think negros should live. If you think that because they are shaped a bit like people they should wear people clothes and act a bit like people then colonialism was OK. If you think they should run wild and free with the other beasts before being cleanly brought down with a 7mm magnum round and taking pride of place on a white hunter's trophy wall as God and nature intended, then not so much. Personally I think the latter would be more dignified for all concerned.

Sweet Jesus… That’s just sick.

I think we should just leave Africa alone. We’ve spent too much money, resources, and human lives trying to fix the place.

We should have just left the negros and other fauna alone and extracted resources with minimal impact. It would be a safari paradise instead of the dangerous shithole that it is and we wouldn't have the feral negro problem in the rest of the world.
