This is why I cut down on my entertainment spending by a lot. I'll freely admit that I pirate a lot of media products simply because I don't believe in paying a lot of cash for some blu-ray release of a movie that cost $2 to manufacture in a malaysian factory somewhere. I might go see it in the theater if it's a really good release and that's where film studios make up the largest proportion of their gross to pay for production costs.

In most cases the money you pay for when you go watch movies goes straight to the top to wealthy movie executives and stars.
