Actually this law was not necessary & this has been blown out of proportion ... couples here don't really kiss in public, if they do it it's quite discreet, unseen & not in your face. A few couples were caught by the metro train surveillance cam kissing in corners & unpopulated areas of the train station & that caused the stir. A few couples have been arrested, fined & charged for kissing.

Hey Renata, how is it going in izmir? quite some action in turkey no? Smells like a little revolution. I suppose your friends are joining the protesters.

Zboy1 it seems so but I doubt that could ever happen, the people just won't let it ... there has been some heavy police force against protestors lately in Istanbul, Izmir & Antalya all started because of a park that was scheduled to be replaced by a mall.

Billy there's been lots of excessive force by police lately on the people protestng ... none of my friends are in that. Only my polish friends went on a rampage giving free kisses ... you know izmir girls lol

I read once that a few decades ago in Germany, due to the high number of the Turk migrant population, Turkish police had to be brought in to control them. So maybe as an outsider I'm missing something. Maybe the excessive force was necessary?? It seemed like to much to me though ...
